An Apple a Day….

November 4th, 2008

Thank God for Mother In Laws who put children to bed!!  That means I can pop on here and write a quick post with the pictures of the Teachers Gift that I made.  Now I totally got the idea off of the net, however, I changed the measurements to suit my own notepad etc.  Very easy to do and you could whip up quite a few of these for Teacher Gifts, Christmas Gifts etc etc.   It’s a little note book / compendium. Below you can see the front cover.

The next picture is the inside view.  I used the DSP to cut the cute little apples out of and also stamped an apple on each page of the notebook.  I used a mini calendar for 2009 and decorated a jumbo paperclip with scallop circles.  I used the outline Alphabet stamped on the Summer Picnic DSP for the Teachers initial.  The post-it notes are cut down to size using my big cutter.  I just fiddled with it all until it fitted!  I used my scissors to carefully snip out a small slit on either fold so that I could thread my ribbon through and use it to hold the pen in place.

THis is just a closeup of the little bookmark paperclip.  Very easy but a wee bit cute!

So there you have it.  A very quick and easy teacher / Christmas etc gift!!  If you would like my measurements, please email me (madonna@madonnadunn.com.au).

Don’t forget to enter in my blog candy from the post below!!  See you all next week!!

Happy Stamping!!!

Housewarming Invitations

September 5th, 2008

I’ve decided that my life is not busy enough with the new house, three children, being 31 weeks pregnant and still trying to operate my SU business out of boxes!  I’m going to have a housewarming party as well!!  LOL.  I just thought it would be nice to invite our friends who we never see since we’ve moved to celebrate the new house and I’m positive the chances of me wanting to do it after the baby is born are going to be slim to none!!

Very simple and plain.  I’m on a limited supply challenge until the renovations get done (ETA: 6-7 weeks – lets hope before the new baby comes eh?).  Anyway, as I can reach the scrap box, my markers and the draw of cardstock this is what I’m sending out!  The picture is a bit dodgy but I thought I had better get them in the post today so this is it I’m afraid!!  I’ll try harder next time!

Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Garden Green
Accessories: 1/4″ hole punch, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, 1 1/4″ & 1 3/8″ Circle Punches & Dimensionals.
Paper: Summer Picnic DSP & computer paper for invite

Anyway, hope you like them.  Very easy and quite Springy!  I have a couple of Christmas Cards here to photograph and show you in the next few days as well, so I will be back!!  Anything that I create from now until the craft room is done will be on limited supplies so I hope you don’t all get bored and stop visiting!!

Until Next time,
Happy Stamping!!

Happy Stars!!

August 13th, 2008

I needed something a bit bright and cheerful to send off to a couple of very clever and talented girls in my team.  I wanted to make them both “star” cards because they achieved some pretty awesome goals last month in their SU journies.  I used Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive Cardstock and more of the delicious Summer Picnic Double sided Papers.  I used both the Star & Large Star punches to do the stars on the front.  I popped some of them up with Dimensionals.  It’s very satisfying to see the girls in my team reaching goals (even if they never intended too! ;-) ).

I’ll be back with some more things for you later this week!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Scrap Happy

August 6th, 2008

Hmm hm mm-mm-mm summer holiday……I’m still singing and I’m still using the Summer Picnic Papers from the Spring Mini Catalogue!!  This time i’ve “scraplifted” a layout from a very talented lady called Karen McLauchlin.  I came across her site through the fabulous Aussie Scrapbooking site.  Sometimes clicking on a link in the wide world of webbing is like stepping into a whole other wonderful world of creativity!  Anyway, this layout inspired me – I’ve had this photo on my desk for a couple of weeks just waiting for the right stuff to come together.  I’ve been wanting to try this kind of scrapping for a while I like the look of it.  I’m not sure i’m super good at it but the picture and the papers make me happy!!  Because frankly, let’s face it, those kids are pretty darn cute!!!

I’ve used Summer Picnic Papers, Big Deal Alpha, Real Red & Pumpkin Pie Card stock, Old Olive ink, Scallop Punch, Clear Buttons & Twine, Black Journaller.  Tell me what you think of my foray into this kind of style!

Until Next time,
Happy Stamping or Scrapping!
