November 5th, 2009
12 months ago my sweet little Lara May was born. We never could have envisiaged the changes she would bring with her. Both to our day to day lives and to ourselves – the way we think, the people that we are. I will say that some of those changes have not been to my liking. No-one ever wants a child with a disability. We all dream of perfection and wonder for those sweet little beings growing inside of us. Lara is just a different kind of perfection!

Happy birthday to your sweet angel. No doubt you have been through many difficult days; I do know how you feel. There are days that are really nice too…I have learned a lot from Julia & Kathryn. I would have a very difficult time walking in their shoes, especially Julia, since she can’t express herself verbally. I would be so frustrated and unhappy! Believe me, she can have some serious meltdowns, but most of the day she is happy and smiling…she’s my hero.
