A Plethora of Pictures

August 3rd, 2008

I’m on a bit of an Off the Page kick at the moment.  I love that you can use stamps and paper to create things outside of just scrap pages & cards.  Today I want to show you a couple of little projects that were fun to make and quite easy too!

The first is a Mini Scrapbook in a DVD tin.

OK so the photos are as follows – Top: Front cover of Tin – I’ve used Regal Rose Cardstock & Ink, Certainly Celery Cardstock and Big Deal Alpha.  I’ve also used Nursery Necessities & the Nursery Letters Wheel.  I used Crytal Effects on the letters to make them bumpy.  Second Row is the first page and I have used the same stamps and colours from the front.  The one thing I want to point out is that I used the Crop-a-dile and Jumbo Eyelets to make a Grommet and thread through some Celery Grosgrain.  This just makes a nice little tab to pull open the book.  In the next picture I’ve used the “Introducing” stamp from Bundle of Joy.  I’ve also used the Stars from Nursery Necessities.  I’ve used the little star punch from SU as well.  Anyway, the rest is fairly self-explainatory but if you want to know more, please e-mail me at madonna@madonnadunn.com

This is not a clue as to the sex of the child i’m carrying either.  I still have no idea!  It’s probably going to be a gift for my girlfriend who is due a few weeks after me.  She tried to find out at her scan and the baby wasn’t co-operating.  The sonographer thought it was a girl but wasn’t encouraging them to go buy pink!

The other little OTP project I made was an altered pinapple tin.  Thanks to Jacqui C fro reminding me to give this a go.  All I have done is used my Tupperware Tin opener to take the BOTTOM off the tin of pineapple, as it doesn’t leave any rough edges and you are able to put the bottom back on! So my top with the ring pull is completely intact!  Cool idea huh?

I’ve kept with the same colours – Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and So Saffron.  I’ve also continued to use the Nursery Necessities stamp set.  How cute are those Elephants??  The other thing I wanted to draw your attention to (if you are indeed still with me in this mammoth posting!) is the Rhinestone Brad that’s on the front under the Welcome little One stamp – it is completely through the tin.  I LOVE my Crop-a-dile!  LOVE IT!  As you can see from the picture the inside of the tin is empty and the Base fits nicely back onto it.  When I’m ready to fill it I’ll probably put some card stock on the inside as well, put in my gift first – maybe some cute socks or a singlet, then pack the bottom with stamped tissue paper and seal the lid with Crystal Effects or some super glue.

So there you go.  A cute little gift idea that you can tweak to suit yourself.  The mini scrapbook in the DVD tin would easily translate into a gift for Father’s Day or for the Grannies in our lives who don’t have any more room for pictures in frames.  The Tin is also able to be altered to suit the gift you want to give.  Again, Father’s Day is just around the corner.  Fill it with Dad’s favourite chocolates!!  If you do make one of these, leave me a comment with a link to a picture or send me an email.  I’d love to see your creations!!

Until Next time!!
Happy Stamping!!
