The girls at Just Add Ink have another great challenge this week. Last week was raising awareness for Breast Cancer and adding Pink…this week it’s Blue highlighting the fact that it’s also Anxiety and Depression Awareness Month. Check out the challenge HERE.
My card this week:
The other part of the challenge was to send this card to someone I care about. Well, last week was a bit of a sad week for our family as my Aunt passed away. She was diagnosed with cancer several months ago but we were not expecting her death quite so soon. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it to the funeral on Friday as my Lara May decided to have a mahoosive seizure and I got to ride in an ambulance to the hospital instead! She is fine now and we’re just monitoring closely again! Anyway, this card will go to my cousin to her know I’m thinking of her at this sad sad time.
I’ve pulled out 5th Avenue Floral as it’s not had a workout in a while. I’ve stamped it in Not Quite Navy on Marina Mist and then coloured with an Aqua pen in NQN to give some darker colours. It’s a bit of a watercolour cheat really! I like the way the lines blur and whilst it’s probably not “technically” correct, it makes for a subtlety and softness that I like. The card base is Naturals Ivory and the strip of DSP is from the Woodland Park papers.
I hope that you’re all having a lovely weekend and that the sun is shining for you! It’s a beautiful day here today!
Until next time,

Hi!! Back again! Phew. All this regular blogging! There must be something wrong with me?! Well I know what’s right and that’s my new space. Still loving it! BUT, here’s my confession…My name is Madonna and I’m a messy crafter. I do try to stay neat, but well…it’s just not possible!! But from that mess comes a very quick and simple card!! And I love it! I can reach for all the little scrappy bits that are still on my desk from the last 7 cards I’ve made and use them to make a thank you for a customer order! Clever no??
Sometimes I over think my cards. Will people like this, or is this more popular…will they like this colour or style or stamp or placement? But you know what? It doesn’t matter! Because If I like it, and the recipient likes it, than that’s all that matters!! I do love (comments = happy heart) to know that my blog readers like my work, but (shock! horror!) It doesn’t matter! Phew. That’s a bit of another confession isn’t it? I feel a bit cleansed now!! LOL
So a very simple little 4 (ish) inch card with bits an pieces! The buttons are non-su from a Mahoosive stash of vintage buttons that I have.
Now, also just wanted to show you that I did make my friends their cookies!! Here they are all wrapped up and ready to be taken to be consumed!! The kettle was immediately boiled on presentation of cookies and I’m pretty sure they went down well! I know the ones I kept here were a bit delicious and my kiddies were very sad when they were all munched up!
Until next time,
Ooh still on a roll with the challenges this week. Here’s Makeesha’s Inkspirations challenge.
Sketch challenge this week. This is the sketch:
And here is my card:
It’s very busy and bright and out there!! I love the Party this Way stamp set and the Celebrations DSP to match is so cheery and bright. I think this card would suit a boy or a girl. I’m still trying to decide if I need to put buttons where the flags meet or not…what do you think?? hmmn.
Stamps: Party this way
Ink: Versamark, Real Red, Pacific Point and Pear Pizazz
Cardstock: Pear Pizazz, Whisper White, Real Red, Pacific Point, Celebrations DSP
EDITED TO ADD: I think after having this sit on my desk for the last few days, it definitely needed those buttons. I’ve only added bows to two and left two plain. I like it much better! What do you think?? Sorry for the horrid light. I might try to retake tomorrow in the light.
Anyway, great to be able to get in and play along with some challenges!!
Until next time,
With all this rain I’ve decided the only thing to cheer up my miserable self is to stamp! Stacey @ Stacey’s Stamping Stage has the most gorgeous colour challenge this week! I’ve been following her blog for a while but never seem to get my finger out in time to enter a challenge. I will admit this new room has definitely improved my mojo!!
And my card:
I love these colours!! I will admit to it being my first time cracking out the Marina Mist, but I am really happy with how this one turned out. The stripedy bit at the bottom was done using the new Solid Stripes stamp to make a checked pattern, to resemble the bedding! It’s not perfect, but neither am I . I used Cute by The Inch stamped in Versamark on the Marina Mist, to resemble the headboard!
Card stock: Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Whisper White, Marina Mist
Stamps: Dot, Dot, Dot; Cute by the Inch; Occasional Greetings, Solid Stripes
Ink: Stazon, Versamark,
Markers: Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Marina Mist Basic Black
Other: Marina Mist, Saffron & Crumb Cake Buttons, Non SU Twine & Corner Rounder
Anyway, wherever you are I hope that it’s a little more sunny than it is here! The rain just keeps coming and coming!! I’m ready for a little bit of sunshine!
Until next time,
How can you go wrong with a challenge that’s asking for you to use PINK & BLING on the same card??!! Anything with that combination is bound to be gorgeous!! Check out the fabulously talented JAI girls here.
This week in honour of October being Breast Cancer Month and the 25th specifically being Pink Ribbon Day, the girls have made the challenge this week all about pink! Love it. I have family who have been very affected by this cancer and some equally horrid other cancers. It’s so sad to see statistics that state 12000 Australian Women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
Here’s my card:
Here is a close up of the flower I made. I coloured a paper flower with the Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Write marker and then I spritzed it with my very own shimmer mist!! Can you see the subtle glimmeryness of it?! Looks very noice.
And the inside, seeing as i’m still trying to channel Teneale!
I’m giving this card to a friend. I’m in the process of baking some heart shaped biscuits and I’ll try to deliver either this afternoon or tomorrow for her & her hubby. Life Happens, Love Helps is a gorgeous sentiment and it’s just what I was looking for to show that I’m thinking of them right now!
for the pinks I’ve used Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette. The inside card stock is Confetti White. The DSP is from the Subtles 12×12 Paper Pack (love it). For the bling I’ve used, Supernova Glitter, Rhinestones, a Rhinestone Brad and Frost white Shimmer Paint (made into a mist).
So is there enough pink? Enough Bling?? I hope so!!
Until next time,
Oooh just scraping in by a hair on my head for the challenge this week! Lighting is a bit off but i’ll retake pictures in the daylight to replace these. I’ve had some camera issues these last couple of days….who knew that SD cards had locks on the side? Uh, not me!! LOL. Nevermind!!
Anyway! Keesh’s challenge this week (errr last week! lol) is a colour challenge. Go over here to check out Keesh & the Design Teams awesome work.
Colour challenge was:
And my card is:
And the inside:
I love this sentiment. Actually I love the whole Word Play Set!!
I’ve used Growing Green a new favourite. And Makeesha, I want you to note that I have even WATERCOLOURED!! Not saying that I’ve done it well, but I’ve done it. Hee hee. I thought I had better after I forgot that was a requirement last week!! Oops! LOL. I’ll tell you a secret, It’s not a favourite thing of mine to do, but this set looks lovely coloured. Also I don’t have any Kiwi Kiss left so i’ve substituted with Old Olive. The other thing is that I’ve used the Faux Suede technique on the Olive and Navy strips on the front. They needed some texturising!
Hope you like it!
Until Next time,
