Friends 24-7

May 11th, 2009

Oh I love it when I can think up a witty and sharp blog title.  Unfortunately, today was not one of those days!!  LOL

Well, I hope all the Mothers had wonderful days yesterday.  And if you are not a Mother – I hope you still had a great day!  I did!  I got to play!!  Yay!!  Love it when I can do some stamping – just for fun and no other reason!

The Friends 24-7 stamp set that I won at convention got a workout yesterday.  Here are the three cards that I made with it:

It’s a bit dark here so the photo was done inside…I might have to go back into the sun tomorrow and do some more.

Hope you like them and if you have any questions about them, please feel free to email me.

Until next time,
Happy Stamping

Happy Mother’s Day!!

May 9th, 2009

To all the mother’s out there may your day be filled with lots of cuddles and kisses.  May there be no whinging or whining.  I hope your children are well-mannered and do what they’re asked straight away!  And then we will all probably wake up!  LOL!!  I’m probably guaranteed the first two but I think that as good as my children’s intentions are they will inevitably forget that whining is not allowed!!  LOL.

Anyway, just a quick post tonight because i’ve been dying to crack open my new 24-7 Stamp set from SU! and tonight is the night!  Did I happen to mention that the set was FREE!!!??!!!  Oh yeah….it was FREE!!!  I won it on prize patrol at convention!  I was a bit excited….I am now regretting jumping around and shaking the darn monkey all over the place.  I do believe those images may come back to haunt me and it’s not gonna be pretty!!  However, I was pretty excited and I NEVER EVER win stuff.  Not like my sister Kristie who is ALWAYS winning things.  Might help that she enters competitions…but that’s not the point!  LOL.  Anyway, I digress – again!  Sorry, i’m always doing that!!

My Mother-in-law, Grandmother-in-law & Sister-in-law (& Family) joined Mark and the kids & I in a magnificent Mother’s Day Breakfast at Sizzler this morning!  Oh My!  I have never seen a 7 year old eat so much!  Katelin got our money’s worth there!!  Anyway, I had made them each a little gift for Mother’s Day.

Each Mummy got a little box of Roses Chocolates, a tag and a card.  I was pretty happy with the way that they turned out.  I got sidetracked and forgot to go back and get a single shot of each of the cards to show you as they were all different.  And the flower embellishments on the tags were really “popped”.  There was a dimensional between each of the layers.  It was cool from the side.  and the Satin ribbon on the tags was DIVINE to use.  Very smooth and delicious…if you can say that ribbon is delicious!

The main images are from the Bella Rose Designer Series Papers.  They are GORGEOUS!  So vivid and rich!  I teamed it with some of the Prints Papers from the Riding Hood Red colour pack.  I was loving the stripedy bit with the florally bit.  Very technical stamping terms those!  LOL.  Don’t forget the special on the Designer Series Papers this month as part of the SU! Scrapbooking Promotions – Check it out here.

Ok, that’s it from me for now.  Hopefully i’ll be prolific in my cardmaking this evening and you’ll all get to see something magnificent in the next couple of days!  But for now i’ll go and leave you with a picture of my beautiful baby Lara as we were heading out to brekky this morning.  She was all dressed up in Jeans and a pair of baby Adidas shoes!  too CUTE!  I am concerned at how red her hair is looking in this picture and will tell myself that it’s just the angle of the photo combined with the reflection off the doona behind her!!  No matter the hair colour she’s certainly been gaining weight since we’ve been nasal gastric tube feeding her and she’s sporting an impressive double chin!!

Some Convention Pics

May 6th, 2009

Well, you are all probably pictured out from all the other Demo’s putting up the pictures on their blogs!!  I have a few here to share with you though.

I have also realised that most of my pictures include one cheeky monkey!!  How did that work I wonder??  If you want to catch up on what he’s done visit him here.

Ok so the picture above shows (clockwise from top left) - Cards on display from Alison Charlton (excellent Cog card), a bag made by the FANTABULOUS Teneale Williams, A wall hanging made by Shelli Gardner, Alisa & Megan with all Alisa’s awards etc, the gorgeous & gracious Yvonne & Makeesha and last but by far the least, Mr Sock Monkey with my swaps.  I made 70 of these Matchbooks with a lollypop on the inside.  Pretty simple but a cute idea for table settings at workshops or classes.

Ok, I’ll be back soon!
Until then,
Happy Stamping!

I hope to get some pictures up of more normal things in the next day or so.  I’m just trying to catch my breath from all the wonderful experiences I had over the weekend.  I’m not even sure where to start!!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend & I hope to get back here soon!
