I kissed a bird….and I liked it!!

I love it when I think of clever and catchy titles for my blog posts!  It amuses me.  Small things and all that!! LOL

Here’s a quick card for your viewing pleasure today.  I’ve got a lot of things to do and very little time to do them in so i’m on the fly today!!

The “kissing” in my title comes from the “kissing” technique – have you ever tried it??  It’s heaps of fun!  I inked up my birdy {from Good Friend in the new catalogue} in Baja Breeze (divine new in colour) and then inked up the starbursty stamp with Pacific Point and stamped it directly onto the Baja Breezed birdy and voila!  Looks pretty cool huh?

So I finally got a chance to have a play with some of the new products that will be in the NEW CATALOGUE which will be released TOMORROW!!  Can you tell i’m a tad excited about that??  Oh yeah.  It’s DIVINE!!

Anyway, if you’ve got questions you know how to reach me!  This is one of the cards we will be making this weekend *waving to Alicia & Co!!*.

Until next time,
Happy Stamping

Busy girl = Bad Blogger!

Oooh i’m so naughty.  I haven’t posted for days!  I have been a busy girl though!  Our littlest one was back at another specialist (we would so win “ologist” bingo should we ever have the need to play!) on Tuesday.  This time it was a respiritory specialist about her floppy voice box.  She has such trouble feeding and they will need to do a bronchoscopy to check it out and then possibly an operation to fix it if it’s what they think it is.  Awful, horrid stuff but totally necessary.  We’re not sure when it will be yet….but when it happens she’ll be in the ICU at the children’s hospital for 7-10 days.

We’ve also celebrated Tom’s 5th birthday this week as well!  (yes 2 children 2 years 3 days apart!!)  And i’m busy trying to get ready for his Spiderman & friends party on Saturday morning.  Oh the fun, the joy, the exhaustion of 14 five year old boys!! Pray for me!!

I did make master Tom a card – 5 greens (his fave colour) but I’m too lazy to find the camera, download the picture and put it up here!! I will try to get to that after the dust has settled on the weekend!

I’ve also been “guest” blogging on my sisters blog this week as she’s been in hospital!  Have you visited my sister Kristie’s blog before? Well check her out.  I was a bit naughty and I used her password and login to do a surprise post.  He he he.  I put up a picture of us as kids with our siblings!  My bet is she’ll pull the picture when she gets out.  So in that eventuality – here it is again for you!!

I asked her readers to tell me which one she was.  I gave them a clue and said I was the CUTEST one!!  I so am though! LOL.  Left to right we are: Kristie, Madonna, Scott (the very grumpy one), Shaun (my twin brother), and Anna at the end.  I must say I really love this picture.  Probably because I think I look so darn adorable and also because that toy I was holding was DOGGY!!  A very NEW DOGGY!!  He was the love of my life until Mark!  Seriously, I even had pieces of him still when I was 15!  Until Anna’s boyfriend thought it would be funny to steal him and to this day I still don’t know what happened to him!  Devastated barely covers how I felt!!  I think I just might need to scrapbook this picture sometime soon!!  Can anyone recommend how to fit in an extra couple of hours in the day??

Anyway, enough rambling!  I hope to get some samples up of some yummy new product soon.

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

7 Pinks for my Princess

Aaarrrgghhh my first baby turns 7 tomorrow!!  Where on earth did those years go?  She is bright, funny, has magical powers over her brother to get him to do what she wants, is beautiful and kind natured {when she wants to be! lol}, she has a wicked sense of humour {gets that from her Dad} and is a joy to be around {most of the time! – after all she is a 7 year old girl!}.

And in honour of her turning 7 I made a card using SEVEN PINKS!!  Yep.  All 7 pinks that SU! have I used!!

And they are - Pink Pirouette *new in colour*, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom, Pink Passion and Pixie Pink!!  Phew!  Mark thought I should also use 7 embellishments {I was shocked he even knew the word ;-) } and seven ribbons but I thought that may have been taking it all a little too far!!  I’ve used the Always stamp set that was in the Spring Mini Catalogue! I was pleased to see it make it into our new one!!  The heart was inked with Pink Pirouette and then “thumped” with Rose Red & Regal Rose.  The chunky glitter is from the Summer Mini {and it’ll be in the new catty too! wink wink!}.  Ribbon is Taffeta.

I hope you like it and that my girl does too.  Pink is her favouritest colour in the whole wide world!  Here’s a cute picture that was taken a couple of weeks ago after a trip to the local farmer’s markets.

Until next time,
Happy stamping!

PS if you’re wondering about my sister Kristie – she’s still in hospital and hopes to be home on Monday!!

Baby Shower Thank you Cards

Gosh a week’s gone by!!  Where did that one go???  I was coming back to post on Monday and all of a sudden it’s Saturday again.  It’s the joy of being a mother of 4…days just drift into each other in a jumble of washing, cooking, cleaning and dealing with little ones!!  But you didn’t come here to read about that!!

Here are the cards and the case I made for hubby’s cousin who is expecting her first baby.  These were the Thank-you cards for the baby shower.  Twenty of them!  I kept the design fairly simple and I hope gender neutral!  I used the Spring Fling DSP with co-ordinating colours – Sage Shadow, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink & Certainly Celery.  I’ve used the Bundle of Joy Giraffe on them and coloured him in with SU Markers.  Bundle of Joy is sadly retiring at the end of March!!  It’s been a well used set for me that’s for sure!!

I also stamped the giraffe onto each of the Envelopes.  I used the lovely Scallop Border punch, Scallop Circle, 1 1/4″ Circle and the Oval Punches as well.  I made up the pattern for the box from scratch based on the width of how many cards were there.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Oh and by the way – THE NEW CATTY IS HERE!!!!  It’s divine too!!  If you would like your copy posted out to you so that you have it in your handsy by 1 April email me at madonna@madonnadunnDOT comDOTau they are $15 including postage or $10 if you collect from me!!  Better yet, if you are in Brisbane or up to an hour(ish) away, I can host a workshop for you and you’ll get your copy FREE!!

Until next time!
Happy Stamping!

Alexandra @ 2

She’s my sweet angel on a good day and a mischievous monkey on a bad.  She’s determined and stubborn and gives the best “squeezy” hugs you’ll ever feel!  She’s just adorable and really…SO much like me!! PMSL

Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip
Other: On Board Simon Lower, Cherished Rubons, pretties kit flowers & half back pearls, Wide Choc Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Choc Chip DSP, Berrry Bliss DSP, Scallop Border punch.

It might be a bit hard to see but i’ve put a journalling tab behind her photo with all the things that she is at 2 – Cute, demanding, sweet, loving, demanding!, learning new things everyday, in love with the Wiggles, Dorothy the Dinosaur & The Night Garden, a light in our lives.

I coloured the flowers with my markers and adhered them with pop up glue dots and crystal effects for the ones that wouldn’t stick!

I hope you like it!  I’ll be back tomorrow with the cards I made for my husbands cousins baby shower thank-you’s!

Until next time!
Happy Stamping!

Colour Inspiration #45

It was a tough one this week.  Monochromatic and I haven’t been successful in the past….I’ll leave you to be the judge on this time!

And apologies in advance for very bad picture taking.  No light today and let’s face it I am ever challenged when it comes to photography….I think I need a lesson….or ten!!  LOL

Cardstock – Basic Gray, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink – Basic Gray, White Craft Ink
Other – Pretties kit, Spring Flower Punch, Versamark & Clear Embossing Powder

Gotta keep running now as I have a mischievous 2 year old and she’s into mischief!!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Spiderman Tom and his invitations

Oh yeah baby!!  Gotta love da moves!!  LOL.  Thomas is a bit of a Spiderman fan and he’s turning the big 5 in a few weeks so the obvious choice for the birthday boy was a spiderman themed party!  I much prefered making the pretty princess invitations for Katelin’s Princess Afternoon Tea last year!!  LOL

So there they are in all their spider-ish-ness!!  Thank goodness for the spectactular white gel pen!  I’ve also added a “web” to the You’re Invited stamp using my SU Marker.  I am so glad these are done, in envelopes and ready to be given to the boys in his class tomorrow.  Now all I have to do is plan the party!!!

Until Next time!
Happy Stamping!

40th Invites

I’ve been helping Lovely Neighbour Claire with her 40th birthday invitiations.  They looked very elegant and classy when they were finished!

The black cardstock, silver paper, velvet ribbon and bling were all non-SU.  The stamp used was the ever wonderful Baroque Motifs.  Versamark, heat and stick powder then dazzling diamonds!  After all, a girl should have a fair bit of bling on her 40th eh??

I’ve got to dash now.  Another peadiatric appointment for Miss Lara.  Hopefully i’ll be back later to post a cute scrap page I did of Miss Alexandra!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!!

I’ve gone from pink to PINK!!

The very subdued Pretty in Pink was just not *enough* for the card that was in my head.  I love AmyR’s sketches but rarely get a chance to play along.  Tonight when I saw it there I just knew what I wanted to do!!  I bought some Trimmings last weekend and I’ve been keen to get them out and have a fiddle.  I think they’re very luv-lee!  But be warned the following card has some bright images!!  I’ll try to get a better picture tomorow when the sun is out and shining bright!! (ETA: I’ve updated the picture today!)

So the sketch I worked from:

And my card.  Which is a slight deviation from the sketch – being another 5 1/2″ square card (I have a *thing* for square right now!)

I’m a bit sad to see the Fishy Friends set retire.  I didn’t really get a very good play with them!!  I guess that means I just have to be a little more diligent with the new catalogue purchases!!  I couldn’t get this quote from The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy out of my head (it’s the title of book 4 in the trilogy – don’t ask me!).   So I just created a circle in word and typed it in myself!  Tricksy huh?  Oh and the colouring is done predominately with SU Markers – I’m still on my L Plates!!

Colours are: Pink Passion, Gable Green, Green Galore, Whisper White.

Anyway, hope I didn’t give you a headache!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

A Case & a Colour inspiration

Have you ever just looked at something – be it a card, scrap page, piece of material – and it’s made your heart sing??  No? Am I odd like that?  Yes, yes, I know i’m a little odd.  It’s been discussed before!!  BUT this card here did it for me today.  I saw it this morning and I just couldn’t get the layout out of my head.  It was just luvvlee!!  So seeings as I hadn’t created for a few days this afternoon when Mark got home and kids were fed, watered and otherwise occupied I made a card.  AND because Kristina Werner’s colour inspiration this week is some of my favourite colours I just had to use them to make it!

Color Inspiration #44

I used Chocolate Chip card stock and mainly the Berry Bliss Designer Series papers.  This card is for a very very special friend who sent me a little something in my mailbox so I even got a little *wild* and broke out the Pretties Kit!!  It’s amazing isn’t it!?!  I hoard and hoard all these things but I am determined to use them more!!  Plus, my dear friend is so very very worth it!  Wide Chocolate Grosgrain, Pretty in Pink Taffeta and a sentiment and some swirls from the Cherished Rub-ons (retiring as well!!) and card was done!  I don’t know that I did the original card any justice but I really like how it turned out!

Anyway the children, dinner and husband are all starting to call and as much as i’d like to hide away in here with my lovely stamps and inks i’d better go and do something or I might be “banned”!!  LOL

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!!
