A fishy challenge & some good lookin’ chicks!

February 19th, 2009

How’d that title grab you?? Well it had me chuckling. That could be the glass of wine I have consumed with dinner making it more funnier than it really is though!!

Tuesday saw my dearest downline (suck, grovel, suck) Kirsty come and do some stamping with me. We were so prolific in our card making we got two whole cards made in the day!! Woot woo!! The first card was a bit of a challenge. Kirsty wanted to play with her new SU! Watercolour pencils and she also mentioned she’d never used the colour wheel before. Sounded like a challenge to me!! We gave it a bit of a spin and came up with a combo that seemed in theory to go with the fishy stamp set – Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Cameo Coral. Now I don’t mind a bit of Cameo Coral but it had Kirsty just about needing a sicky bucket!! (Too too funny I tell you!). Anyway, after much too-ing and fro-ing this is the card I made. I even gave my ‘bug a workout!! (Ta to Kirsty for the lend of the folders too!)  Head on over to Kirsty’s blog and check out the card that she made! (link in my side bar to the right!).

Stamp sets were Fishy Friends and So Many Sayings (hostess).  Colouring was done with an aqua painter and the SU watercolour pencils.  The glitter is the chunky glitter and it was adhered with the Tombow multi.  Texture is from the cuttlebug embossing folders.  I used the Mat Pack to get the paper piercing so straight.  Comments appreciated!!

good-egg

Oooh I had so much fun with these chicks!!  Aren’t they adorable?!?  I masked the centre one to get the other two to look as though they are standing behind him/her.  Papers are from the Petals & Paisley DSP’s ( they retire with the catty i’d guess!)  The stamp set is A Good Egg.  I water coloured the chicks with the Water colour crayons and an aqua painter.  Hope you like ‘em!  I do!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Wedding Thank You’s

February 16th, 2009

Woo Hoo.  I’m getting all “arty” with my photography!!  LOL.  The above is the one of the Thank You cards and envelopes that I made for my twin brother and his new new wife.  I’ve used Sincere Salutations and the swirly bit is from the SAB set Yummy.  It’s hard to tell in this picture but the colours Elegant Eggplant stamped on Whisper White.

Below is a picture of the back of the bride’s dress.  It was the most stunning purple colour!  Gorgeous!

Ok, I’d better get back to the laundry now!  I’ve done 5 loads of washing and I’ve still probably got another 2 to go.  I might leave them until tomorrow though because the floors need to be done before the kids come home and mess ‘em up again!!   *phew* a woman’s work is never done!! LOL

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
