How’d that title grab you?? Well it had me chuckling. That could be the glass of wine I have consumed with dinner making it more funnier than it really is though!!
Tuesday saw my dearest downline (suck, grovel, suck) Kirsty come and do some stamping with me. We were so prolific in our card making we got two whole cards made in the day!! Woot woo!! The first card was a bit of a challenge. Kirsty wanted to play with her new SU! Watercolour pencils and she also mentioned she’d never used the colour wheel before. Sounded like a challenge to me!! We gave it a bit of a spin and came up with a combo that seemed in theory to go with the fishy stamp set – Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Cameo Coral. Now I don’t mind a bit of Cameo Coral but it had Kirsty just about needing a sicky bucket!! (Too too funny I tell you!). Anyway, after much too-ing and fro-ing this is the card I made. I even gave my ‘bug a workout!! (Ta to Kirsty for the lend of the folders too!) Head on over to Kirsty’s blog and check out the card that she made! (link in my side bar to the right!).
Stamp sets were Fishy Friends and So Many Sayings (hostess). Colouring was done with an aqua painter and the SU watercolour pencils. The glitter is the chunky glitter and it was adhered with the Tombow multi. Texture is from the cuttlebug embossing folders. I used the Mat Pack to get the paper piercing so straight. Comments appreciated!!
Oooh I had so much fun with these chicks!! Aren’t they adorable?!? I masked the centre one to get the other two to look as though they are standing behind him/her. Papers are from the Petals & Paisley DSP’s ( they retire with the catty i’d guess!) The stamp set is A Good Egg. I water coloured the chicks with the Water colour crayons and an aqua painter. Hope you like ‘em! I do!
Until next time,
Woo Hoo. I’m getting all “arty” with my photography!! LOL. The above is the one of the Thank You cards and envelopes that I made for my twin brother and his new new wife. I’ve used Sincere Salutations and the swirly bit is from the SAB set Yummy. It’s hard to tell in this picture but the colours Elegant Eggplant stamped on Whisper White.
Below is a picture of the back of the bride’s dress. It was the most stunning purple colour! Gorgeous!
Ok, I’d better get back to the laundry now! I’ve done 5 loads of washing and I’ve still probably got another 2 to go. I might leave them until tomorrow though because the floors need to be done before the kids come home and mess ‘em up again!! *phew* a woman’s work is never done!! LOL
Until next time,
As I promised yesterday, here is the card I made for the 40th we went to briefly last night (the joys of parenting a baby hinder late nights!).
The base is 12.5 x 12.5cm square. I’ve used the delicious Ginger Blossom Designer Series Papers, Groovy Guava, River Rock and Ruby Red Cardstock. The Birthday Wishes stamp is from the Sincere Salutations Set. The “L” is from the On Board Lots of Letters Chipboard. I used a round container to make the circles (cut out by hand) and the River Rock Scallop Circle was created using my trusty 1/2″ circle punch – it’s my Faux Nestability!! (I still covet the real ones tho! ). The Crop a dile got a show on this card as well! I’ve neglected so many of my tools lately! I must make a point of getting them out more often!
Inside the card i’ve used the Circle of Friendship Stamp and the Scallop Circle, 1 1/4″ Circle, 1″ Circle punches for the accent. The inside cardstock is River Rock which is a bit hard to tell in the ordinary lighting, however it was still miserable and wet outside. I must get a white light to take pictures with (and some photography lessons to boot!).
I’m pretty sure that Lisa liked it. I hope you did too!! I’m off now to go through the mess that is my 6 (nearly 7) year old’s wardrobe! Urgh! I’m armed with garbage bags, storage boxes and the labeling machine so that I can encourage her gently to put her clothes back where they belong. (I’ve tried shouting and it didn’t work! LOL)
Until Next time,
I was so excited to see Kristina’s Colour Challenge this week because I had already made a card using these colours!! I must have been chanelling her eh?? PMSL.
For my Valentine to my dear hubby I cased myself and used the same layout that I had done for The Happy Couple’s Wedding card.
I used the Sale a Bration Set Polka Dot Punchs and the Baroque Motifs for the swirl. I used my two way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds to make it all sparkly and shiny! As you can see my card uses Real Red, Basic Grey, Basic Black & Whisper White.
I’m heading off to a 40th tonight so i’ll post you a picture of the card I made for it tomorrow.
Until next time,
I think that the devastation and pure horror of what has happened in Victoria this last week has rippled throughout the country. If you are like me and have donated some cash but don’t know what else to do, Sara Gladman is organising a Scrapbook drive called Memory Gifts:
I am certainly going to participate in this and if you are a scrapper and have some spare cardstock & time I urge you to as well.
My thoughts & prayers are with the families and friends in our southern states.
Just a super quick post to show you the card I whipped up for the happy couple’s wedding. A very quick, simple card that is (if I do say so myself) quite elegant for a wedding card. As I designed and made all the invites I could match their colours perfectly!
I started with a Basic Black base and stamped the Baroque Motif swirl in Silver Encore Ink across the centre on a diagonal. I cut a piece of Whisper White, stamped Congratulations in Elegant Eggplant, mounted it on a piece of basic black that was slightly larger. I used the scallop punch to get the scallop on the bottom of the Elegant Eggplant. Attached the sentiment, wound some silver thread around and around the bottom, mounted the whole piece onto the card with dimensionals and Bob is your uncle!
Have a good weekend everybody, I’ll be back next week!!
Until next time,
Well, apparently a change is as good as a holiday and Lord knows I could do with one of those!! I hope you like the new look. A bit different to the dots. They were giving me a headache! LOL.
I’m off for the weekend now for my twin brother’s wedding. I still haven’t made a card for the happy couple yet. Ooops. I might get onto that tonight!
Hopefully next week i’ll get some more stamping done for your viewing pleasure!
Until next time,
Melissa, one of the sweetest girls in my team gave birth to a little boy called Brock William this very morning at 5.11am!! I had planned to play along to Makeesha’s sketch challenge today so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to make him a card! Being this on the ball is not like me at all!!
Now I have given my stampin’ dimensionals some major loving today. They were feeling a tad neglected I think! I’ve also wheeled and wheeled over and over again using the Lots of Dots jumbo wheel and white ink. I wanted a more distressed look intstead of the “clean” I normally go for. I’m not sure I love it but it sure is different! The colours used are Bashfull Blue, Not Quite Navy & Night of Navy. I’ve also used the chunky blue glitter on there as well. It’s supposed to represent the sparkle of the ocean when the sun hits it. Deep huh? PMSL. The boat from the Nursery Necessities set was coloured using my markers.
I really liked this sketch of Makeesha’s and i’m glad I got time to play along today. I hope i’m not too late!
I reckon I could even get this card posted today. How amazingly prompt would that make me?! LOL
Until next time,
