Well I did tell you yesterday that I had a very inspirational day on Tuesday when I was out and about. The following card was inspired by the dress the lady in front of me at the post office was wearing. I must say I don’t get out much and I was very impressed by the number of clothing items with funky colours. There was another lady in Woolworths who’s top inspired me but i’m still thinking about how that will work in a card….maybe i’ll get it to work tomorrow for you all!
Anway, sorry for rabbiting on again (I just can’t help myself!). Here’s the card:
I even got enthusiastic and stamped an envelope and the inside of the card as well!!
Stamps: Eastern Blooms, So Many Sayings (hostess)
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, River Rock, Sage Shadow, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant & Whisper White
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Sage Shadow, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi
Other: Large Oval & Small Oval Punches, 1 3/8″ circle Punch, label punch.
I challenge you to use these colours! They really appealled to me and I’d love to see what someone else does with them!!
Until next time,
Kristy and Kristie have both nominated me recently for the Kreativ Blogger Award. I thank you both very much for your kind words. It warmed the cockles of my heart to get awarded them.
I visit so many sites and see so many excellent blogs that I just cannot possibly organise my mind enough to nominate people. I’m sorry, it seems like a bit of a cop out but honestly, if you could spend 5 minutes in my mind you would be running screaming in another direction and forgive me for missing out on playing this time around.
I do however recommend that you visit both girls and feast your eyes upon the loveliness of their creative talents!!
Until next time,
I’m sorry I fully intended to come back yesterday and post this card but life just got in the way of stamping!! Rude really isn’t it??
Tuesday at school drop off a good friend of mine, Lucy, was wearing the cutest hat and I just had to use it for the inspiration for the following card! Lucy has the most exquisite taste in clothes and shoes, or maybe it’s her mum as she is only 3! (waving to you both Sarah & Lucy).
Because it’s rainy and dark here today I had to try to get a good picture indoors. I don’t know if it shows up quite as bright as it is IRL. And lets face it. I am a poor photographer!
Stamps: Embrace Life
Cardstock: Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Real Red, Sage Shadow
Ink: Real Red, Cameo Coral, Sage Shadow
Other: 1/4″ Circle punch, Sponges
Now the creative juices must have been all flowing in the correct directions as when I was out and about on Tuesday I saw many colour combos that tickled my fancy and i’ll be posting the cards they inspired for you over the next couple of days. I’m being optomistic that i’ll maintain my current momentum!
Until Next time,
I interrupt the usual stamping program for some more cute pictures of my children! I promise to have more stamping tomorrow (I stamped today!!! YAY)
Was it wrong to be doing internal cartwheels over the fact that 2 out of 4 of my children are going to school full time now?? I was so pleased that school started back today. 6 weeks is a long long time for stressed out mothers of multiple children who constantly bicker and whinge (the children, not the mother)!! I was so pleased to be packing them off this morning!! Here they are:
And here is Master Thomas all ready to go for his first day ever!! Isn’t he cute?
I did miss them though!! Let me share with you a conversation I had with Tom on the way home from school today:
Me: “I missed you guys so much today! I’m glad you had a good day though!”
Tom: “Gee Mum, I didn’t even think about you at all!! I was having fun!”
And while i’m at it I had better throw in a picture of Miss Lara May. Here she is plotting away:
Ok, that’s it for pictures of the kids for now. I’m sure i’ll have more moments where I want to share their deliciousness with the world!
Tomorrow I’ll post you a picture of the card I made tonight! I’ll wait until the sun is out and lighting is better to take a picture!
Until next time!
My third child Alexandra turned a big 2 years old on Saturday! She is looking so grown up now! I also happen to think she’s pretty darn special so here are a couple of pics for you to admire (one of my best masterpieces yet! )
Now on to the stamping i’ve been doing. I don’t know about you but sometimes I see something somewhere and the colours just resonate with me. This last week I was watching TV and the bedding in one scene was just gorgeous. Now I only saw it for maybe 10 seconds but the colours really stood out and they have been floating around in my head ever since. The only way to get them out is to get them onto a card. And today I even had the time to make 2!!
I made the one on the left first and then with the left overs etc I whipped up the one on the right. I’m not sure which one is my favourite…I may be leaning towards the square one on the left…what do you think?
Stamps: In the Spotlight (Hostess Set)
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery
Other: Real Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Real Red Brads, Circle Punches.
Anyway, I’m pleased with the results of my work today! I had seriously thought my mojo had packed up and moved to another country! Be kind to me if you think it’s still there!
Until Next time!
I thought for sure I would have missed the deadline on posting for this challenge. I made the card yesterday and promptly forgot until just now that i’d not posted it. Oh well. I’m still suffering from birth/pregnancy hormonal/mental imbalances (isn’t that a polite way of saying insane eh?).
Ok onto the card. I thought as i’ve been seriously lacking in the inspiration area recently i’d combine SCS sketch SC211 with the Kristina Werner colour challenge. This was my card:
Once again I apologise for the ordinary photography skills of mine. I am still trying to work out the camera we bought a couple of months ago. Yeah, well that’s my excuse anyway!! LOL.
Stamps: Embrace Life, Live Your Dream
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Ruby Red, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie
Other: Pretty in Pink, Ruby Red and Pumpkin Pie Markers, Circle Punches, Large Oval Punch, Sponges, Paper Snips.
I was pretty happy with the result of this card based on the fact that my interest and enthusiasm has been in the negatives after all that’s happened this last month. I plan to try to do more challenges this year because I do enjoy it!
Until Next time,
I’ve been away from blogging as my beloved Grandmother passed away on Saturday 10th of January. She was a big part of my growing up. She taught me how to embroider and whilst I can do it, my stitches on the front will never ever be as neat as her stitches on the back. I swear you couldn’t tell which was the front or back on her work it was that neat. I am proud to own many of her pieces. She was also the bestest baker. Man, her scones were so light and tasty they would melt in your mouth! And the Chocolate cakes she’d make you for your birthday were divine.
I will miss her dearly, may she rest in peace. I know she’s in heaven looking down and watching over us all, especially my dear little Lara May.
Go and hug the ones you love tight and tell them you care! I’ll return normal scheduling later! I hope to get to a couple of challenges to get the creative juices flowing again.
Until next time!
A friend of mine had a little girl about a month after we had Lara and this is the card that I made for her. I apologise in advance for the very ordinary photography skills!
The card was fairly simple to put together. I used the new wide stitched grosgrain and the scallop punch from the Summer Mini to make the medallion thingy (technical term ) that you see on the front. I used the a rub on from the Spring Mini on the ribbon. Did you know you can use rub-oon Ribbon?? And on anything relatively flat??!! They are a bit cool and I really must start to use mine more! The die cut stickers are from the Crew Kids Girl Simply Scrappin’ Kit. These are really very thick and look super on a card or a scrap page.
A piece of Whisper White and some more die cut stickers on the inside finished it off. I hope you like it.
Until next time,
Happy New Year everyone!! May 2009 bring you health & happiness!! I’m afraid to say we did not see the New Year in! I did wake groggily at midnight and wonder briefly why someone was firing a gun off in my neighbourhood!?! What the? Errr yes Madonna, that would have been fireworks!! Hey, I’ve got a new baby, I’m still not with the real world yet!!
Anyway, you didn’t come here to read about my mental insufficiencies!! I have stamped!! Whoo hoo!! It’s been a while since I stamped just for the fun of it I can tell you! The cards below will be making their way to all the ladies who hosted workshops with me last year. There will also be a small gift from me as well (hand made of course!).
The stamps are from the summer Mini Catalogue which started on 1 December, and they are called Live Your Dream. The DSP is the co-ordinating Afternoon Tea papers. Delicious and possibly my favourite from this Mini!!
I do think the green one turned out to be my favourite!
I have also used the 1″ Double-Stitched Ribbon from the Mini as well (big thanks to Claire & Kristie for the samples they both gave me!). I’ll definitely be getting me a whole roll of this stuff – it’s yummy!!
If you haven’t seen a copy of the Mini and you’d like to, please email me at [email protected] and i’ll pop one in the post to you!!
Also, don’t forget that Sale-a-bration has started and for ever $100 spent you will receive a FREE stamp set. See HERE for details!
Until next time,
