November will be the last month to get some of the delicious Spring Mini Products before the end of the catalogue, especially the divine Holiday Harmony Designer Series Papers and Satin Ribbon!!  With this in mind I have put together a kit using some of these fabulous products.  You will be able to Scrapbook, make cards or even 3D items – it’s up to you!!  What’s included??

Whimsical Butterflies and a tasty treat

I love Garden Whimsy and I haven’t had a play with it for ever so long!  So today when I needed to whip up a card and some little love notes as a thank you to our neighbours for hosting a BBQ I pulled it out and had a play.

This first picture shows the card and a little double pocket pouch bag with the love notes inside.

The next picture is of the love notes themselves.  I didn’t get a picture of the stamped envelopes as my camera batteries died just after taking the picture of the desert I made.

On both the Card & the Love Notes I used:
Stamps: Garden Whimsy, Circle of Friendship & Short & Sweet (technique is Rock ‘n’ Roll)
Ink: Bashful Blue, Old Olive
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Old Olive
Other: Label Punch, Circle Punches, Soft Subtle Brads, Old Olive Wide Grosgrain & Paper Piercing

Now as the neighbours were so kind as to host the event today I made some desert to take along.  I was happy with how it looked so I took a picture to show you all!!  I must say my ability to produce anything out of the kitchen at the moment is a bit of a miracle as my brain function is certainly not at full capacity at the moment!!  Bring on the Birth!!

Ok, I’ll be back tomorrow with some updated pictures of how the craft room is coming along for those of you who are interested!!  The baby’s room is all done and I’ve just got a wee bit more laundry to do for it, make some curtains and we’re all done!!  No rest for the wicked!!

Sketch Challenge!!

Woo hoo!! I stamped!!  I stamped!! I can’t believe I stamped!!  AND what’s even more exciting was that it was just for fun!!  Can you imagine????  Gosh, it feels like forever since I made something just because I wanted to!!

Last week when I was in Warwick I stole borrowed My Mums Lovely As a Tree Stamp set! (Thanks Mummy!!)  I’ve had a few ideas running around in my little head and I loved the Splitcoast Sketch this week as soon as I saw it so voila the following cards were born!

The above cards used Lovely as a Tree and the swirl from Season of Joy.  I also used the Merry Christmas from Occaisional Greetings.  I used Handsome Hunter, Real Red, Kraft and Whisper White Cardstock.  I tried to get a tricky picture of the Dazzling Diamonds that are on the trees.  I just used my old favourite – 2Way Glue pen, to adhere the Diamonds.  Love the ease of it!!  The ribbon is the Striped Real Red Grosgrain.

The next card uses the same sketch except turned on it’s side.  I did love this card!  Cardstock is Kraft, Real Red, Old Olive and Very Vanilla.  I used the Mat Pack to pierce the cardstock, another trusty tool I wouldn’t be without!! The flowers and the circle are cut out by hand and adhered to the top of the Olive image with Dimensionals.  I’ve used the Real Red striped grosgrain ribbon again.

The next photo is to show you just how ordinary my current space is at the moment.  Can you imagine being 38 Weeks pregnant and trying to squeeze into this space??

That’s my bed with all the stuff on it in the bottom left hand  corner and my tall boy on the right hand side.  I have a big mess in there at the moment because i’m trying to squeeze a whole room into less than a square metre!!  Tough isn’t it??!!  LOL.

Anyway! So glad I got to play today even if it was only for an hour!!  Won’t be long and i’ll be all sorted in my new craft space!!  What will come first though??  The baby or the room??!!  LOL.

Some gentle persuasion and a New Do!

My obstetrician expressed his love of a particular kind of Raspberry Vinegar that’s obtainable at a little cafe in Warwick. Now as my family live in Warwick I conned begged asked my dear Mum to get me some so that I could bribe gently persuade him that I needed to be induced a little earlier than the due date of the 7th of November!!  Below is a picture of the gift I put together for him.

Nothing too flash just a quick box in a bag made with 12 x 12 Old Olive Prints and a Love note using Old Olive and Real Red off cuts with some Old olive Stamping using the Spring Solitude hostess set.  The note inside read “Dear Dr H, Thank you in hopeful anticipation of an early induction!”  He thought it was priceless and laughed when he read the note!! He said he liked a bribe. I told him it was a gentle persuasion around to my way of thinking!!  LOL.   It has worked a charm though as we’ll be talking exact dates next Wednesday when I go!!  Woo hoo!!  We’ll have this baby here in 2 weeks or less!!!  We still don’t know what it is but there is great speculation amongst friends and family!!  What do you think it might be??  I have a DD6, DS4 & DD 20 Months.

Now to the New Do!!  After the Dr’s visit this morning I went all radical and had the hair chopped off!! Makeesha warned me not too but I just couldn’t cope with it anymore!! It was too hot and heavy! I think I like it this length but give me a few days and I could regret it!  What do you think??

I’m not so sure about the self-portrait but I’m home alone so it will have to do!!  Bit shorter eh??

Bold Birthday & A Season of Dashing!

Does anyone else have trouble coming up with catchy titles for their posts?  I’m afraid I have used all brain matter up on growing this baby and you’re all gonna have to live with my pathetic attempts for something catchy!! LOL.

The following cards were made recently at a SAS I did recently (waving Kerryn, Kerry, Chrissy & Crew).  There were 16 people there and each made three of each design that’s nearly 100 cards in less than three hours!!  Wouldn’t it have been cool to see them all together?? 

Anyway, enough rambling!  The following card is one we made on the night.  You’ll have to forgive the photo, I wasn’t quick enough to get one before the SAS and during the course of the night it had a small run in with a Turquoise inkpad!  I think the Ink won!

Stamps: Big Bold Birthday
Cardstock: Kraft, Regal Rose, Whisper White, Celery
Ink: Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron
Other: Turquoise grosgrain ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, 2way Glue Pen, Petals & Paisley DSP, 1″ & 1/4″ Circle punches.

The next card is using two of my favourite Christmas things this year – the Season of Joy Stamp Set & Dashing Designer Series Papers!

Stamps: Season of Joy
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Real Red
Ink: Old Olive, Real Red
Other: 1″ Circle Punch, Silver Brads, Dimensionals, Sponges, Dashing DSP

I loved that the ladies that were there all put their own spin on the designs and that all cards were different and unique, yet used the exact materials!  Gotta love that!

OK, that’s it from me for now.  I’m itching to get stamping but it’s all way to hard at the moment so you have to bear with me for a wee bit longer!

Mad Inkstincts Team Meeting Pt2….and Reno Updates

Okey Dokey!!  I’ve finally gotten some pictures taken of the other projects we did on my Team Stamping Day.

We used Chipboard backing, covered them with Designer Series Papers and Decorated with Ribbons etc.  The clips are attached with a Rhinestone Brad.  We used the Crop-a-Dile to punch the hole and then attached the brad.  When it’s in I turned them over, filled up the hole with Crystal Effects for stability and then put another strip of cardstock over the back as well.  I think they make a great idea for Wishlists or notes etc.

The other project that we did was One Little Book.  I got the pattern and Idea from 3D Design Challenge Website here.

The picture below shows the gifts that the girls who came along got.  There wsa a little covered notebook & pencils, a mini take-away box filled with lollies, a lollypop in a cover and a stamped folder with all the make and take things and templates.  I was a busy beaver that week!!

 

The renovations are coming along nicely.  Hubby is painting away madly this weekend and we are ahead of schedule for completion!!  YAY!!  He’s such a good man for doing it all.  Unfortunately due to my extended girth at the moment i’m useless as far as lending a hand goes!!  I do try to keep our three children out of the way and that in itself today seems to be a challenge!!  It’s been a long time since 5.13am this morning!!

I’ll leave you with a couple more renovation pictures.  The top one is looking down the driveway.  The sliding door on the left side will be my craft room, the two windows on the right is bubs room.  There is also a study behind the babys room.

Renovations Renovations

Sorry I haven’t posted those other couple of projects yet. I’ve been up to my eyeballs in Renovations!  We are converting our garage into a room for baby, a craft room for me & a study nook (read: Corner) for dear hubby. 

My dear Brother In Law is a builder and he is doing them for us.  This picture was taken yesterday morning standing from the front of the house looking in.  The bigger section to the left is MINE!!! Mwahahahah.  They were very quick in getting up the frames.  Today it’s almost all done!!  Yay!!!  I’ve been operating out of a corner in our bedroom and I can tell you it’s not been much fun.  I haven’t been able to access all my supplies and most things are still in boxes etc.  It’s been a very frustrating process.  I’ve also been getting quite anxious about where I was going to house my baby if it arrived early!!  Dear Hubby is going to paint the rooms this weekend and Dear BIL will be back early next week to finish off and carpets are going in next weekend!!  So i’ll hopefully have myself a functioning craft room soon!!! Not to mention that I will be able to store dear baby’s clothes in a cupboard instead of green Coles Shopping bags!!!

Mad Inkstincts Team Meeting

Yesterday I held a Mad Inkstincts Team Meeting.  Unfortunately not everyone was able to come but I hope those who did had a good time.  Ohter than the Sock Monkey incident there were many many laughs throughout the day!  I thought at one point my waters were sure to break with all the laughter!

The girls were all given little pressies from me for attending and unfortunately I didn’t get pictures of them beforehand so when someone (hint hint) sends me pics i’ll post them here!  We also did several make and takes.  One of them was a card using the Faux Silk technique.  If you haven’t ever seen how it’s done, check out splitcoast here.

We also made some Vellum Wine glass shades.

I have a couple of other projects that I need to take better pictures of and then i’ll post.  I’ll get some pictures off the girls who were here (hint hint) and then i’ll post them too!!

I’ve got a Sock Monkey!!!!

With many thanks to my dearest darling downline Treez I am now the proud owner of my very own sock monkey.  Now I have to admit these little critters do disturb me.  The stamps in the US Catty disturbed me and seeing a real monkey in real life was just……well…..I don’t even have the words to describe it!!  I must also add that my monkey has a very loud monkey screech when you squeeze him a certain way!!!  Disturbing! 

I’ll be back later to post details of my Mad Inkstincts Magnificent Team Building & Stamping Extravaganza and the projects that we did.  For now I’ll leave you with a picture of me and my new pal who’s going to be keeping me company in the new stamp room!!
