Hey You!

September 29th, 2008

I thought I would give paper piecing a bit of a go so I pulled out the Outline Alphabet and created this card.

I made this card with a fellow demo in mind.  She’s a very bright kind of girl (bit of a nut) and she loves Pumpkin Pie (and I’m not being sarcastic!).  I don’t think that she reads my blog but one never knows so shhh!! LOL!  I’ve paper pieced the “hey” and inked the “you” from another stamp using my Pumpkin Pie Marker…..one out of the Occaisional Greetings I think.  I also used my Crystal Effects to give the letters a bit more oomph.  I used my 1/2″ circle punch to punch out a couple of shapes from the Jersey Shore DSP and whacked a bit of Crystal Effects on them and raised them off the card with Dimensionals.

Something to brighten and cheer her day!

Until Next time,
Happy Stamping!

Fun & Fast Birthday

September 28th, 2008

I love spring and summer and the bright colours that start to emerge in what people are wearing, the summer ranges of linen and tableware, flowers growing in a garden…..it’s just so darn cheery!!  With this in mind I pulled out the Jersey Shore range of designer series papers from SU! and the Fun & Fast Notes stamps and made a very cheery Happy Birthday card.   I think this would be suitable for a male (I intend to give this one to the BIL) or anyone really!  I used my SU markers to colour in the cake.  The little blue “brads” you see on the card are actually “faux” brads.  I used my 1/4″ circle punch to punch and then adhered them to the card with the 2-way glue pen and used Crystal Effects to make them pop!  I really love a bigger brad on the card and this idea always looks good!  Only thing is the Crystal Effects needs a little time to dry…..or you will end up with lovely fingerprint patterned brads!!  LOL

Stamps: Fun & Fast Notes
Paper:Jersey Shore DSP, Whisper White, Brilliant Blue & Wild Wasabi
Ink:Stazon
Accessories: Word Window punch, 1/4″ Circle punch, Sponges, Crystal Effects, 2-way Glue Pen

I have survived the first week of the school holidays here in Qld and we’re about to embark on week 2 which is why you haven’t seen me around much!  I have a couple of other projects in the works and hope to get them done to share with you soon.  I’m still waiting on my renovations so bear with me as I frustratingly create from a corner of my bedroom!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!!

Dashing Crabs for Christmas!

September 22nd, 2008

At least I thought my little crabs were dashing!!! LOL.  These cards were made using practically the same products. All I’ve changed is the base card stock and ribbon.

Stamps: Crab & Co, Season of Joy
Card stock: Sahara Sand, Real Red, Old Olive & Water colour paper
Ink: Real Red, Versamark, Stazon
Accessories: Aqua Painter & Bold Bright Watercolour wonder crayons, Wide Olive & Red Grosgrain, Circle punch.

As I said in my post yesterday, I am trying to practise the water colouring and whilst i’m enjoying it as a change I don’t know if it’s my ‘thing’! IYKWIM?  I hope you don’t mind seeing Christmas Cards so early.  I figure the more I get done now the less i’m going to have to stress about come Christmas when there will be a wee new baby in the house!!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!!!

So Saffron Blooming

September 21st, 2008

I’m Back!!  And I’m terribly sorry to anyone who has had issues trying to reach the madonnadunn.com site.  Unfortunately due to an administration error (ie – I’m a ditz) the domain name expired and then someone else stole it from me so I had to make a new one with the .au on the end.  For those of you who read my posts regularly (Hi Kris!) I hope it’s not too much of a pain in the posterior!

Anyway, the above card is one I made weeks ago (pre-move) and hadn’t been able to find until a couple of days ago!!  I’m practising my water colouring! (I’m no Alisa Tilsner yet, but I’m working on it!)

Stamps: Blooming with Happiness (Spring Mini)
Ink: Stazon, Taken with Teal, So Saffron, Old Olive, Going Grey, Versamark
Cardstock: So Saffron, Old Olive, Taken with Teal, Watercolour paper

I have another couple of cards to post so I will be back tomorrow!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!!
