Christmas Stationery Box

August 20th, 2008

I love the internet! I love that I can be looking at websites and be inspired by projects that others have done before me!  I love that I can use my own twist on things to make something that is unique to me!  This box I found whilst procrastinating (I know, not like me at all!!) and just blog hopping to places i’d never been before.  I found a picture of it on Stacey Brady’s site and then googled Statationery Box Tutorial and found the Tutorial on another site!  Pretty cool!  You can see the tutorial for it here.

Above is the outside of the box. I’ve used Always Artichoke & Pomegranate Card stock and the lid & front uses Holiday Harmony DSP.

Inside you see there are several pockets.  On the front flap i’ve attached a note book for the Christmas Card list etc.  The little pocket is for stamps.  In the pockets at the back there are Tags, 3×3 notes and some christmas cards.

3×3 Notecards.

Christmas Cards using Season of Joy, Holiday Harmony DSP and Stitched Pomegranate Ribbons.

Tags using the Tag set from the Spring Mini Catalogue.

I hope you like it.  I had fun making it and I think i’ll whip up a couple in some Berry Bliss and East Coast Prep papers to have on hand as a gift etc.

Until Next time!
Happy Stamping!

Kristie ALWAYS embellishes it!!

August 15th, 2008

Over at my SU Uplines forum we had a little cyberstamp this week.  I only participated in one of the challenges as I’ve been ill this week with Laryngitis.  My children have rejoiced because I can no longer yell at them.  I can share with you that a wooden spoon banged down on various different surfaces DOES get their attention however! ;-)

Anyway, what does the title of my post have to do with the card or the cyberstamp?  Well, dear Kristie (who some of you may know is my sister and my downline!) hosted the cyberstamp.  She is addicted to embellishments.  Cannot help herself.  Due to Alisa setting the challenge of only one last week, Kris retaliated and said we must use at least 3!! (quite childish really don’t you think?! lol)

This card uses a Soft Sky Base, Spring Silhouette DSP, Wild Wasabi and Very Vanilla Card stock.  The heart stamp comes from the Always set out of the new mini and was “rocked and rolled”.   That is where you stamp in the lighter colour and then rolled your stamp around in the darker colour to get the two-tone mottled effect.  My three embellishments are the Vanilla Wide Grosgrain, Vanilla half-back pearls from the pretties kit and the “hello” rub-on.  Kristie thinks rub-ons are a dubious embellishment…but hey, it works for me!!  Go and check out the other cards submitted in the Gallery at Alisa’s site.

Until Next time,
Happy Stamping!

Happy Stars!!

August 13th, 2008

I needed something a bit bright and cheerful to send off to a couple of very clever and talented girls in my team.  I wanted to make them both “star” cards because they achieved some pretty awesome goals last month in their SU journies.  I used Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive Cardstock and more of the delicious Summer Picnic Double sided Papers.  I used both the Star & Large Star punches to do the stars on the front.  I popped some of them up with Dimensionals.  It’s very satisfying to see the girls in my team reaching goals (even if they never intended too! ;-) ).

I’ll be back with some more things for you later this week!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Stamp A Stack of Cards

August 12th, 2008

This week I have a couple of Stamp-a-Stack events running.  This is where the guests pay a certain amount and make a particular number of cards.  This week it’s 6 cards.  I’ve made two different designs.  These first cards are made using the East Coast Prep DSP and Wild About You Stamp Set.  I was trying to create something that would be suitable for either children OR men.  My hubby said he liked it so I’m hoping the hostesses feel the same way!! LOL

These cards all use exactly the same dimensions for each.  Just by changing the colours and embellishments you can change the complete look of the card!  I love that the papers are double-sided because you can get such varying effects!!

These next cards are very feminine and use the new One of a Kind set out of the Spring Mini Catalogue.   I love the Berry Bliss DSP.  Actually, I think i’m partial to all the SU double-sided papers!!

Anyway, I hope that the guests and hostesses this week like what i’ve designed.  I have a few more things up my sleeve for later in the week.  I’m trying to get ahead a little so that I can post things remotely when I move next week!!  YAY new house!!  Yuck – moving at 29 weeks pregnant!! LOL

Until next time!
Happy Stamping!
