Alisa’s Colour Challenge

Well as I’m on the challenge roll this last week I thought I’d just jump on the bandwagon of the challenge my SU upline Alisa set on her blog.  I wasn’t so fussed on the colours she picked, however I thought a challenge isn’t a challenge if it’s easy is it??  Here is my card:

Stamps: Fabulous Flowers & Everyday Flexible Phrases
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Apricot Appeal & Choc Chip
Cardstock: Choc Chip, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Pumpkin pie, Apricot Appeal & Whisper White
Accessories: Crop-a-dile, Jumbo Eyelet, Word Window Punch, Slot Punch, Wide Choc Chip Grosgrain ribbon.

I hope you like it.  It’s not really the kinds of colours I normally use but I kinda like it.  Let me know your opinion!!  I have another Sketch Challenge Card to post in the next day or so and some other bits and pieces I’ve been busy making!!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Kristina Werner Colour Challenge #13

Oh Yay, I’ve finally gotten around to completing a Kristina Werner Colour Challenge on time.  I always have wonderful intentions and then life seems to get in the way of it all!!  I’ve used both Baroque Motifs and Polka Dots & Paisley Stamp sets.  Regal Rose, Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi and River Rock Inks.  River Rock, Whisper White, Regal Rose & Purely Pomegranate Cardstock.

Hope you like it!!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping.

Fishy Sketch Challenge

Over at I {heart} 2 stamp there is a great Sketch For You To Try.  So I did!!  This is the card I came up with.  I used Fishy Friends Stamp Set and also the small starfish and shell from Crab & Co.  The seaweed that you see in the picture is actually the octopus tentacles upside down!!  Tricksy huh?  I have used the Spring Break DSP and Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Certainly Celery Card stock.

I hope you like it.  I water coloured it using Blender Pens and the Aqua Painter and ink from the lids of the Stamp pads and SU Markers directly onto the card stock.

Hope you like it!
Until Next time,
Happy Stamping!

Nursery Necessities Pocket Card

I love a good challenge and I love it when people ask me if I can provide instructions for something that i’ve never made before.   I made this pocket card for Krislyn & Anita.  Anita is having a baby very very soon and wanted the instructions for the pocket card on page 38 of the IB&C.  I couldn’t find anything but decided it couldn’t be too hard.  As a matter of fact, it’s been on my mind all afternoon and I couldn’t rest until it was created.  (See what you do to me Krislyn!!!) LOL

So how did I do it?? It was very easy!!  Take an A5 piece of Cardstock and score along the long side at 3.5cm and 10.5cm.  Score from bottom at 3 cm.  Cut excess card stock away (see diagram below).  I used the 1 1/4″ Circle punch to punch out the top part.

To embellish the front of the card I used a strip of Blue Bayou, tied some Soft Sky Double Stitched Ribbon around the band and stamped the “Welcome, little one” sentiment onto the Soft Sky Card stock above the Blue Bayou band.  I then layered a 1 3/8″ Circle in Soft Sky, a 1 1/4″ circle in Whisper white, the Star from Nursery Necessities stamped in soft sky and the Elephant from the same set stamped in Blue Bayou.  I used the Word window punch to punch out the white strip and stamped the “It’s a boy” from Nursery Necessities on it.  I punched out a small hole and attached it to the Double Stiched Soft Sky ribbon with some twine.  The white insert just has a 1 1/4″ circle folded over and some more Soft Sky Ribbon stapled to the top! Voila.  Pocket Card!!

Hope that’s what you were after Krislyn & Anita!!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!!

Scraplifting Kaiser

In one of the free Kaiser Magazines I saw an altered Canvas.  I loved the layout so decided to “scraplift” it and make it into an SU! Layout.  These photos were taken on my birthday when Alexandra decided to have a little stamping practice with Mummy.  She’s just so darn cute I had to scrap them.  I turned them into black and white firstly to try to hide her grotty face from helping Daddy make cake and secondly to minimise the “noise” from my messy desk!!

Paper: Berry Bliss Designer Series paper, Close to Cocoa and Choc Chip Card stock.
Other: White Gel Pen, Urban West Rubons, White Halfback Pearls from Pretties Kit

I hope you like it.
Until Next time,
Happy scrapbooking!

Feeling Dotty…..

I was drifting off to sleep last night and these cards were rolling around in what’s left of my mind (it’s seeping out my ears throughout this pregnancy!).  So this morning I just had to go and have a play.  I love this Polka Dot Background Stamp from SU! It’s just so spotty!!  I love spots!  I stamped it in Versamark and then embossed it with the Black Embossing powder.  I think I need more practice with using the Black it seems to go everywhere more than the other colours (perhaps it’s just me!).  I’ve used Whisper White & Basic Black Card stock and White Taffeta and Black Grosgrain Ribbon.  The sentiments are from Fabulous Flowers and Occasional Greetings.  Very simple, very easy but I like the look.

Hope you are all having a fabulous Monday!!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Love Notes are the go this week…

I’m loving the versatility and ease of creating 3×3 inch cards and boxes at the moment.  For the workshop that I did this week (Hi Linda & all who came!) I made a couple of different designs.  One set was my Lucky Door Prize gift and the other was for my hostess as an extra special thank you for having me.

First up the door prize:

This is a pull-treat pouch/holder thingy.  Very technical term there.  I’ve used Garden Whimsy with Night of Navy & Old Olive.  The scallops on the Olive are done using the corner rounder.  I’ve also used the two biggest circle punches and the large oval punch as well.

Next was the box that housed the 3×3″ cards and the cards themselves.  I’ve stuck with the Old Olive, Night of Navy and Garden Whimsy theme.  I was loving the end result of these little fellas.  They were too cute in real life.  The colours were lovely and fresh and I hope they brightened the day of the winner of them!!

For Linda’s thank you I did a double pocket pouch bag and more 3×3″ cards using the Spring Silhouette Designer Series Papers and the Circle of Friendship Stamp Set that is on special this month in the E-scape bundle.

They were quite quick and easy to whip up with matching envelopes using the Love Notes cards and envelopes from the E-scape bundle.

I’ve been busy which is why my posting has been a little on the slow side.  I’ve some other cute projects I’ve been working on using the Designer Series Papers to share with you over the coming week.  I’ve also got some pictures of a cute little ATC I made for a swap last week.  I’ll try to get back to update in the next day or so.  Damn that life gets in the way of creating!!

Until Next time,
Happy Stamping!

We have a winner

Let me put you out of your misery!!  As per our Blog Candy Challenge a few posts ago, who made which card and who’s our lucky winner??

Kristie made the Rose Red Card on the right and mine was the Regal Rose card on the left.  Of the ten comments only 5 were eligible and correct!! Good guessing!!

Congratulations to ANNE EDWARDS who has won the Blog Candy.  I ran the numbers through random.org and this is the number it spat out!

Anne, I’ll put your parcel in the post early next week!!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!!

Melissa’s Birthday Card

It is official.  I am a slacker.  LOL.  Poor Melissa Garland has had to wait an age for her Birthday Card from me.  I knew what I wanted to make it was just a little elusive for a while.  I had varying stages of this card made on my desk but weren’t happy with them until this one came along….

Cardstock: Pale Plum, Perfect Plum and Basic Grey
Ink: Perfect Plum
Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Frames with a flourish and Everyday Flexible Phrases.
Other: Basic Grey Taffeta Ribbon, Elegant Eggplant grosgrain ribbon.

I hope that the wait was worth it my dear friend!!

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Framing the Family

I know that I’ve made a frame from the All in the Family Stamp Set before but that was when my littlest was a wee babe in arms.  Now she’s a toddler dragging her teddy around by the foot!!  I was also prompted to update my “family frame” for an upcoming class.  Thanks Krislyn!  the large frame you see below is actually a case from the new Idea Book & Catalogue.  The other one I really liked the three separate frames for “individual” shots, so to speak. LOL.

I don’t think you can tell but in the first frame I’ve given Katelin & Alexandra sparkly bits on their dresses with the two way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds.  I’ve also raised the balloons with Dimensionals.

Don’t forget the blog candy is still open until Friday so make a guess and go in the draw to win some freebies.  Yes Demo’s can enter if you wish.

If you would like further info on the projects above, please contact me.

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!!
