Simply Scappin’

I love the look of the new Stampin’ Up! Simply Scrappin’ Kits.  Particularly the Crew Kids Girl Kit.  This morning whilst my little cherubs were sleeping and watching a video I got stuck in and made up 18 6×6 pages from a template that I had here.  I have barely even put a dent into the Kit!!  I only added a couple of extra pages of 12×12 Whisper White & voila i’ve scrapped Alexandra’s First Birthday! Woo hoo me!!

As you can see above this is what is still left over from the kit even after i’ve done the 18 Pages!!  If you are interested in purchasing one of these kits from me I will include the templates that I used to quickly and easily scrap so many pages in one morning!  The scrap kits are $36.95 and include 8 sheets of Textured Cardstock in 4 different colours, 6 sheets of Self-adhesive die cuts, 2 of each design, and 3 sheets each of 2 different double sided papers which are of cardstock quality.  It’s great value and i’ve still got HEAPS of scrapbooking that I can do with the leftovers from this mornings project.  Email me on madonnadunn@aapt.net.au if you are interested in getting a kit of your own!!

Until next time, Happy scrapping!!

Scrapping my Beautiful Boy!

April 27th, 2008

My Stampin’ Up! Upline Alisa Tilsner posted some challenges on our team forum last week.  This is one of the things I made for the challenges.  This one was to use Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White in a card or layout.  I decided to scrap this beautiful picture I took of my darling little man a month or so back.  He is such a lovely natured little guy!!

Cardstock: Blue Bayou & Soft Sky Textured Cardstock, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.

Stamps: Genuine Article & Office Accoutrement.

Accesories: 1 1/4″ Square Punch, Scissors, Blue Bayou Double Stitched Ribbon (yummy).

Now a couple of points of interest are the zig zags at the bottom of the page.  I have made these using my 1 1/4″ square punch.  I just turned it upside down, put the paper in where I thought was a good size, marked the punch with a black pen to use as a guide for the rest of the punches.  Aligning the marks and the previouse punched triangle as I went along. Does that make sense?  If not let me know and I can attempt a tutorial.   The Other point of interest is the photo corner in the top right hand of the photo.  I again used te 1 1/4″ punch.  I punched out a square from the textured Soft Sky Cardstock and cut it in half on the diagonal.  I put the two triangles together and cut it across as wide as I thought the photo corner should be.  Hope that helps!

Until next time, happy stamping!!

Happy Birthday Dear Mary-anne…

April 24th, 2008

It is my dear SIL’s birthday next week and this long weekend we are heading to a big gathering to celebrate with her – she’s turning the big four-Oh!!  I wanted to make her something that she could keep and also some nice cards to use as well.  I came across these mdf boxes at Riot the other day and it’s the most perfect size for some cards and envelopes.  I hope that she likes it.

It’s a little dark where i’ve taken the picture but you get the idea.  The box behind is painted in a Kaiser Pink paint and then decorated with Petals & Paisley Double sided paper, and Rich Regal Wide Grosgrain ribbon.  I stamped the “cards” on the top with old olive using the Big Deal Alpha.  There are 20 cards and matching envelopes in the box.  The two Baroque Motif cards are shamelessly CASED,  as I was true to form and procrastinated too long to delay any further.  I can’t remember the name of the lady who designed the Pomegranate, Old Olive Baroque card in the top left.  Kerri Hunter designed the white Baroque cards that are at the front inthe middle.  I’ve used River Rock to stamp the Baroque swirl and then Pomegranate to do the spiky little flower and greeting.  Pomegranate to stamp the roundy flower at the bottom and I’ve matted it on Pomegranate Textured Cardstock that was punched out using the new Scallop punch.  The Blue Bayou Bold Birthday Card is one I just whipped up using my new Bold Birthday Set (thanks Mel!! mwah!).  I wanted to add something to the box that was masculine or usable for a child.  I think this card accomplishes that.   Anyway, i’m off for the weekend now, I hope Mary-anne likes her little gift!

Until next time, Happy Stamping!!

It’s Official – I’m Wonderful!!

April 23rd, 2008

LOL!!!  Did the title get your attention??  In today’s mail I have received two beautiful cards from two equally beautiful people.  But what made me giggle was that they both had wonderful on the front of them!!  It’s not everyday that someone sends you a card telling you they think you’re wonderful but to get two in one day has made my day!!  Thank you very much dear Kristie & Tanya – I think you’re both pretty wonderful too!!
