Challenges, Challenges….& perhaps some procrastination!

Well I SHOULD be emptying boxes and packing things away in my new study!!  I know I promised pictures.  Here’s a sneaky peak for now.  I did want it to all be perfect but I’m realistic to know that it’s probably never going to be perfect!!  What you are looking at in the picture below is the end of the room.  I think it’s pretty self-explanatory.  To the left of the picture, the cupboards wrap around a little way and my computer and printer is on that desk.  I’m very happy with it.  I’m totally in love with Ikea and of course my dear darling husband who did so much of the work to get it to where it is today.  Thanks also need to go to the ‘lations who helped!  Peter B for the building work and Adam & Jim for the installation of the cupboards.  I am so pleased with the outcome!  It will be even lovelier when I pull my finger out and put everything away!! 

Now for the challenges.  I’m so loving just being able to get to the majority of my stuff that I HAD to create.  The need was too great to ignore!  First card is for a challenge over at the Elite Challenges Blog.  It’s called “Take to The Sky” and it was a colour challenge.  Colours were Soft Sky, Taken with Teal and Purely Pomegranate.

Cardstock: Soft Sky, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White & Taken with Teal
Ink: Taken with Teal, Purely Pomegranate
Other: Linen Thread, 1″ & 1/2″ Circle punches
Stamps: Short & Sweet, Polka Dot Background

The next card is a combination of both the Elite Sketch Challenge #15 and Paula at Precioso’s Midnight Madness #3 Challenge.

Stamps: Always
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Very Vanilla, Ruby Red and Pixie Pink
Ink: Soft Sky, Ruby Red
Other: Scallop Punch, 1 1/4″ Circle punch, 1/2″ Circle Punch, Sponges

Anyway, hope you like what i’ve done.  I was happy to get in and do some stamping!!  Who knows – this baby might even make an early entrance and then who knows when I’ll get stamping again!!

Elite Challenges

As a part of the Elite Stampers Forum we are given challenges to do each month etc.  I haven’t been playing along so much these days but have decided I need to stamp everyday so have set myself the task of trying to get at least one of the three done per month.  This morning I’ve just finished my second one!!  Yay me!! LOL.  And the other thing that makes me very happy is that both cards are created entirely from scraps without cutting into ANY new pieces of cardstock.  That is my other task to myself – using up my box of scraps!

So the challenges I’ve completed are Sketch & Colour. 

The card above is the Colour Challenge.  The colours were Purely Pomegranate, Always Artichoke and Creamy Caramel.  I also added some Very Vanilla to stamp the branches & birdy onto.  The stamps are Spring Solitude Hostess Level 2 from the Main Catalogue.

This one is the Sketch Challenge.  I used Regal Rose, Purely Pomegranate and Old Olive with the One of a Kind Stamp Set from the new Mini Catty.
