A little bit of sunshine….

The other week I was feeling quite cross and the only (ONLY) thing that was going to un-cross me was having a little play with some Yellow Papers.  I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I love yellow!!  It makes me happy on the inside…warms the cockles of my heart and gives me great pleasure. Yep. I really like it! So I decided that I’d make a bunch of yellow cards and send them out into the world to make other people happy on the inside too!!  The cards have found their way into the hands (and hopefully hearts) of the recipients so I can show *you* now!

So there wasn’t as much Yellow as I had initially intended but I hope that it was enough to make hearts happy on the inside. Let’s face it…any kind of mail into your letterbox that is NOT a bill has to make you smile just a little huh?  I have received some gorgeous creations in return and will photograph and post up here in the next wee while. Today is rainy and overcast here. Just the sort of day I like to spend curled up in bed with a book…..not likely to happen though with a list of “to do’s” as long as my arm.  Oh well in my “other world” (you know, the place you go to in your head…or is that just me??!) i’ll be curling up in bed with a book!! LOL

Melbourne Convention

Hi again!!  Just a quick convention post.  I’m sure you all have read heaps more interesting blogs than mine about all the wonderful stuff that happened.  I just thought I would show you my swaps.  If I’m allowed to say so, I loved my swaps this year.  They both made me happy on the inside! And we all know how good THAT is!! LOL

First swap was using Make a Monster.  I also did some punch art stuff and made a little planet!  I used the sentiment “Happy Birthday Human” from Lots of Bots set.  I just thought they kinda went well together.

The base is Pear Pizazz and the other colours used are Not Quite Navy & Peach Parfait.

The other swap I took was a fun one with a pinwheel made out of my fave colour, Daffodil Delight!

I should have probably taken it out of the plastic before I took the picture but…well..um..I didn’t! LOL.  I used the new cupcake punch and cupcake stamp set to do the clouds.  I also used the new punch too.  The “hill” is embossed with the polka dot folder.

The level of swaps I received at convention this year was outstanding!  I was really happy with all the swaps I received and the best part of it was coming home and showing my kiddies.  Katelin, Tom and I spent an hour our so laying on my bed (in the sun!) going through them all and chatting about each one.  Here are some of my favourites:

Now the last picture is the the gift I gave my roomies.  It was a hard cover notebook, some chocolates, a pen and some yummy hand cream.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!! I’ve been quite busy this last few weeks.  We had the baby shower for my friend Becky and then the last week of school.  Last weekend hubby and I skipped off (alright! we actually drove!) child free to the Sunshine Coast for a gorgeous wedding in some awesome gardens overlooking the coast.  Bliss.  I indulged in more alcohol than was necessarily good for me and had a lovely relaxing time.  Before the school holiday madness started!  This week has seen me chasing my tail (well, not my actual tail, just my figurative one!) and my children.  I have good intentions to blog more regularly but I just don’t seem to get there.  Oh well! I’m here now!!

In the last week of school I whipped up 3 “bunny boxes” for Kate & Tom’s teachers and then needed another 3 for Alexandra’s teachers and the (most awesome) Nanny (whom we love and cannot do without) (just in case she reads this!).  I got my original idea from Danni Graves here.  But since then have seen variations of them popping up on the internets.  As cute things are want to do!  My pics are just my very ordinary iPhone photos as my camera wasn’t to be found!

A variety of punches were used along with the Top Note Big Shot die and the Fancy Favour box as the umm well, box! LOL. If you really really want to know, just email me. Oh yeah, and forgive the one on the left, he/she had eye surgery minutes before this photo was taken and the surgeon possibly wasn’t paying as much attention as she should have been!

We’ve also been getting crafty with some other Wascilly Wabbits this last few days and made some little bunnies for the kids to give their friends. Again these pics are just done on the iPhone.  Hoping with all my bits and pieces crossed to be getting a fandangled SLR camera for a combined Mothers Day and Birthday as i’m lucky enough for them to fall in the same month. Yay. I can’t promise my pictures will be any better though! LOL

The bunny itself I saw somewhere on a blog and cannot for the life of me remember where.  Theirs was brown, and very cute!  I changed a few things and then added the little “cup” for the single egg to go in the back.  I had to put a base on the bunnies as they weren’t very stable without it.  It was awful, one of the eggs fell out and cracked! I did the only thing a responsible mother could do.  I ate the faulty egg before it could distress my children.  I know.  Always making sacrifices! LOL

The other pictures i’ll leave you with (ugh again with the iPhone!) are just some quickies from Becky’s Baby Shower.  It was awesome!

Ok, that’s it!  I’ve got nothin’ else.  If I find the time tomorrow, i’ll take some pictures of the cards and box a group of lovely young ladies made at a kids class I ran this week.

It’s starting to look a lot like…

Christmas!!

I’m sorry I’ve been so neglectful of the poor old blog!!  It’s been so crazy this last month I don’t know where the time has gone.  To think! It really nearly IS Christmas!!  Lucky I’m just about done on the present front.  Still need to get one more gift.  But it’s a tricky one so I’m not sure about it.  I’ve spent an age today getting all my Christmas cards done.  Last week was spent finishing up teacher gifts.  Wanna see some of what I’ve been doing??  I’ll make it up to you for my absence with a photo heavy post eh??

Ok, teacher gifts.  My Kate had 2 teachers this year and Tommy just the one.  I also wanted to make gifts for the extra special ladies from Xavier Children’s Support Network that support my Lara and our family.  Here’s what the outside looked like:

And the following picture is of the Male Teacher’s gifts.  The girls ones were a bit different, I used a variety of papers for those but didn’t think to get pictures!  The girls also got a covered notebook as well.  The small diaries all had the teachers initials on them. The little bags were made using a Big Shot Die and I filled them with treats.

I love making the tags match the kraft coloured bags.  They looked so impressive all lined up in a row. So cute!!

This year I wanted to incorporate a photo of the kids in the Christmas card.  Snapfish had a great special on photo cards so I used them to print a panel with a greeting and then I used some red and white bakers twine to give a lift and added it to a card base so I could write a message on the inside as well.  I know that seems like a lot of work, but I didn’t want to “cheat” too much!! LOL

Then I made a whole stack of cards for my down line and other Stamping Friends.

My favourite was the one with the Melon Mambo Base:

I used a non-Stampin’ Up! texture plate to get the Merry Christmas embossing on the Marina Mist Card stock.  A bit of a non-traditional Christmas coloured card!  I hope everyone likes them!

Ok, I’ll run along now as i’ve still got Miss Alexandra’s 3 teacher gifts to make.  No rest for the wicked I say!!

Colour Challenge Time!!  I’m LOVING my new room.  I did promise more photos and you shall have them.  I’m just not sure you’d like to see it with the amount of boxes i’ve still got around to unpack!!  It was neat and tidy and then….well….nevermind!!  LOL

Anyway, the new room is very conducive to me stamping!!  Hooray!! Hooray!!   So today I had a play with the JAI Colour Challenge.  Check it out!

And here’s my card.  Forgive me the crappy photography as it’s gray and miserable here, again!!  I’d like to know where the Sunshine State has darn well disappeared to!?!

The background is Always Artichoke but with the light in here today it looks very Gray!  Sorry about that.  If it gets sunny i’ll retake the pictures.  I love the teeny tiny, itsy bitsy little pearls!  Umm can anyone say gorgeous??  LOL

And then I did the middle.  I was trying to channel the highly talented Teneale Williams.  Did I fail miserably?  lol

Butterflies for Hope

My God Daughter Hope turned three a few weeks ago and I wanted to make her something special.  I get many comments on my butterfly canvas so I decided I would make one for Hope.  With the use  of my trusty tool the BIGSHOT I could customise her wall hanging with her name!!

I used a variety of pink designer series papers.  Raspberry Tart (still on special this week!!), Sweet Always, Pink Pirouette Patterned paper.  I couldn’t find my paint after the move so I improvised on the base.  I used Mod Podge all over the canvas and then scrunched a layer of tissue paper over the top and then repeated.  I was very happy with the textured effect!  I’m afraid my photography was a bit off the morning I took the pictures as the sun wasn’t quite up and we had a drive ahead of us to see the birthday girl!

Morning!  I’m back again!!  I’ve been so busy this last couple of weeks but I’m sure you’re all used to me saying that by now aren’t you??  I guess when you have four children busy is normal.  Anyway, while I’ve been MIA from blogging I have celebrated my birthday and had a housewarming at our new home for a close knit gathering of 60!!  So forgive me my absences!!

I’ve been making some thank you cards this last week to say thanks for the lovely gifts we were given at the housewarming.  I’ve been using the most delicious Raspberry Tart Papers.  Did you SEE they are on special this week??!!!

I’ve used the Timeless Type Alphabet Sizzlit Dies for the Big Shot.  LOVE my Big Shot!!  Love IT!!

Must keep running now as it’s chilly here today and the more I sit the colder I get!!  I hate to say it but I think I need to do some vacuuming to warm up!! Eeek!
