Keeping it Simple

One of my {unspoken} goals for 2010 is to get back into doing some scrapbooking. One of the ways i’m doing that is by keeping it simple. Not overthinking it. I’m not entering any competitions. I’m doing it for me. For my family. For the record and the memories.
Stampin’ Up! help me keep it simple by using the Simply Scrappin’ Kits. This time i’ve used the Sweet Nothings Kit. For only $36.95 you get heaps of pages and elements to use. This kit was a gift from my secret sister on the ESAD forum. Be warned, i’ve been using it HEAPS so you’re all going to be seeing some more stuff done with it. I LOVE it!
For this page I’ve used one of the photos from our family photo shoot in October of Mark & I. I’ve kept it simple, because I want the photo to be the focus. Aren’t we cute? LOL

I like it. Quick and easy and starting to meet my resoloutions!!
Hope your all having a super Saturday!
Until next time,

Envelope Scrapbook Tutorial

Remember my post about the Envelope Scrapbook I demonstrated at Regionals? Well I’ve finally gotten around to doing a quick tutorial. I’m sorry about the delay but I have had my holiday go-slows on!! We got back from the Beach on Tuesday and I have had my Mum staying with me so I have just been enjoying doing not much of anything!!
Anyway you didn’t come here to hear me waffling. With this scrapbook, you can have as many pockets as you please. I chose four because I have four children. I’m sure it would work with as many as you needed it to.
Start with a Whisper White Envelope with the flap open:

Add sticky strip around the flap section, making sure that you do not go right up to the fold. You want to leave a couple of milimetre gap to give you a little room to fill the pocket and still be able to open and shut the scrapbook easily.

Carefully attach your first envelope to the second. Ensuring that it’s straight and that the envelopes are both facing the same way.

Keep adhering the envelopes together until you have the necessary amount for your scrapbook. I used a circle punch to then take out the tab piece from the front of the envelope. It helps to get the inserts out.

The inserts for the envelopes measured 10cm x 15 cm. I just used part of an I wish Scrapping Kit to decorate mine. I think i’d like to do one using some different colours. It would make a cute gift for a new baby too!

Very easy to put together!
I hope that helped. Please email me if you have any questions.
Until next time,
Happy stamping!

Filed under Techniques, off the page, scrapbooking | Comment (1)Regional Training Workshop Wow
Hi all. I’m back today with pictures of the Workshop Wow that I presented at the Stampin’ Up! Regional training in Brisbane yesterday. I must say it was highly nerve wracking to present to a group of my peers. I am grateful that I didn’t trip going up the stairs!! It was embarrasing when the microphone didn’t work and Aaron, the Business Development Manager for SU! Australia had to lift my shirt to fiddle with the microphone thing! I had a Bridget Jones knicker moment!! LOL. I suppose that’s better than a diamonte thong though eh?? LOL
If I was clever, I would have taken many photos prior to the day, however it totally slipped my mind so I only have the one of my kids and not the other. Same principle though.
Above is the scrapbook closed with a ribbon acting as the belly band. I have created this scrapbook using 4 Whisper White SU! Envelopes and part of the I Wish Simply Scrappin’ Kit.
Below is the album open. Both stand up and flat.

Above you can see the inserts that I added pictures of my kids to. I also created a sample that was un-embellished using Bella Rose DSP. The inserts were cut at 10×15cm.
The other project I demonstrated was an accordian card holder. I made this one using the I wish kit as well. The other sample I made used the Bella Rose DSP. Again no pics. If I had a brain just think of what I could achieve!!!! LOL

The other sample that I created had 4 little 3×3 love note cards inside. This sample I created some tree decorations. I love having pictures of the kids on the tree as I can track their changes each year!! I think this would make a great gift for grandparents that have everything as well!!
I’m working on the tutorials for both of these projects and if you are interested, please email me.
I hope you enjoyed these. I had fun making them and i’m very relieved Regionals are over!! If you were there, please leave a comment, I’d love to hear your feedback.
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!!

So much to post…..
So little time to do it in!! I’ve been collecting pictures and i’ve got a whole bunch of stuff to post. I want to show you all of it now, but i’ve no time to upload all the pictures so you’ll have to be content with as much as I can squeeze into the time i’ve got!!
Ok, well, i’ll go back to the workshop I did for Carmel (my dear SIL) a couple of weeks ago. It was a scrapbooking workshop and the girls all made 6×6 pages. I showed them how to convert the 6×6 page to an A4 page and then onto 12×12. I also showed how to put the 6×6 straight onto a 12×12. This particular group of crafters have all not long had babies (with the exception of a grandma, excuse me Sally) so the theme was geared toward their little bundles of joy!
So first up the 6×6 page. I used the same materials that the girls were given. I used the Nursery Necessities stamp set and co-ordinating Star Punches.

A 6×6 page adding a strip of DSP and some hardware and ribbon to “dress” it up a little.

Next was the A4 page. I added some ribbon behind the 6×6 page, a “film strip” of pictures at the bottom of the A4 and it was done.

And then last of all the above page matted onto the 12×12 base. I’ve just printed some journalling about her birth story onto the Regal Rose card stock using Ali Edwards Font. i’d still like to add a title down the side inbetween the journalling block and the A4 page, but i’m not sure yet what I want that to be.

The next pictures are of the page I did for Carmel as the hostess. I used James, who happens to be my adorable Godson as well as nephew. Lucky aren’t I?? I think i’d like to replicate this layout for my own album because I was very happy with the way it turned out. First off the 6×6 using most of the same materials as the girls layout above with the exception of some DSP.

And then i’ve put it onto a 12×12 sheet of whisper white. I’ve used lots of stars and i’ve stapled elements to the page to give it a more masculine feel. The alphabet used for the title is Big Deal.

Now i’ve got heaps of other things to show you but it will have to be another day as we’ve got visitors arriving any moment and I need to get some food prepared!
Hope you’re all having a wonderful long weekend! I’m off to the Scrapbook fair tomorrow and i’m going to have a blast!! I’m doing a class by the uber talented Teneale Williams, so i’ll have to post my creations on the blog sometime next week!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
