A little bit of sunshine….

The other week I was feeling quite cross and the only (ONLY) thing that was going to un-cross me was having a little play with some Yellow Papers.  I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I love yellow!!  It makes me happy on the inside…warms the cockles of my heart and gives me great pleasure. Yep. I really like it! So I decided that I’d make a bunch of yellow cards and send them out into the world to make other people happy on the inside too!!  The cards have found their way into the hands (and hopefully hearts) of the recipients so I can show *you* now!

So there wasn’t as much Yellow as I had initially intended but I hope that it was enough to make hearts happy on the inside. Let’s face it…any kind of mail into your letterbox that is NOT a bill has to make you smile just a little huh?  I have received some gorgeous creations in return and will photograph and post up here in the next wee while. Today is rainy and overcast here. Just the sort of day I like to spend curled up in bed with a book…..not likely to happen though with a list of “to do’s” as long as my arm.  Oh well in my “other world” (you know, the place you go to in your head…or is that just me??!) i’ll be curling up in bed with a book!! LOL

12 little cards went out one day, into some letterboxes far away!!

Until next time!
Happy Creating!!

A more subdued card

This card steps way outside the boundaries of what I normally do.  It’s calm as opposed to the loud bright colours that I normally use.  I wanted something that was going to be soothing and peaceful.  It’s the card I sent a blogger I follow who has recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  Her story resonated with me so deeply I needed to send a card telling her she was in my thoughts and prayers.

The Doiley that i’ve used is from the Flirtatious Designer Series Specialty papers.  It’s a bit hard to tell in this photo but I did a bit of sponging with Crumb Cake and vintage-ing it up.  As far as my capacity extends to do so! I’m not so good at it but I was happy with this card. I {love} the Vanilla Seam Binding. So very nice!

Anyway, I hope she liked the card and that it bought her a bit of joy in what I can only imagine must be the worst time of her life.

Until next time!

Big Hugs

I made this card for a gorgeous brave little girl who broke her arm this week.  She’s a friend of my Alexandra’s and they’ll be off to school together next year. Miss Laura was very brave when she broke her arm so I thought she needed a pretty card and some colouring in things to go with it.  Colouring in is an activity that requires no body movement and as such should be fairly safe for a little girl with a sore arm!

I’ve used Melon  Mambo and So Saffron ink, cardstock and DSP.  The gorgeous sentiment is from a new Hostess Stamp set called Perfect Words. I’ve also used Delicate Doilies and Creative Elements. I am also loving the scallop edge polka dot ribbon! I want more colours now!

I hope you like. I know Laura did.

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

S{ick}?

Do you think this card is a bit too bright and may make the recipient feel a little worse??  I hope not!  It’s in the undecided column for me at the moment.  I love these Domestic Goddess papers. They are so bright and cheery!  I was hoping to perfect the art of paper chevrons with this card as well.  Needless to say, they are tricksier than one initally thought!

Anyway whatever the verdict, this card is already in an envelope and all ready to be posted to the recipient.  Here’s hoping it doesn’t make her feel any worse! lol

Until next time!

Amazing, Awesome, Talented….

Me! Ha ha, just kidding!!!!  I made this card for a lovely friend who’s done some awesome things this month.  Hope she likes it, because I love it!  Loving Poppy Parade and Daffodil together.  Actually. I don’t think there is any combo with Daffodil that I don’t like! lol

What do you think?  I love this new hostess stamp set – Array of Sunshine. It’s gorgeous. I’m glad I ended up getting it! The other hostess set used is Perfect Words. They have some fantastic sentiments in it and I can assure you it will be one of the sets I will use to death between now and next catalogue!

The flowers in the Array of Sunshine set are perfect for cutting out and layering:

And because every time I make a card now I feel guilty if I haven’t stamped the innards à la Teneale -

Hope you like it! It made my heart happy to stamp it and I hope the recipient likes it even if her colours of choice are blue and brown! (ha! a hint!)

Until next time!

She’s turning 3!!!

My teeny tiny little baby is turning 3!  How fast the time flies!  How many times in the last almost 3 years did I think we wouldn’t get to this point (although we are not quite there yet!)?!  So we need to celebrate! Celebrate what a milestone she has reached, what a milestone we have all reached as a family! 3!  It blows my mind.

Anyway! Here’s the front of the invitations I’ve made – sorry if you’re getting one and your surprise is spoilt!

And a close up of the cute front bit:

It’s just a one layer card (1/4 of a sheet of cardstock) with all the pertinent details on the back.  I used the Delicate Doilies stamp set to make my own designer papers.  I had my Katelin Rose helping me out cranking the handle of the bigshot on the Pennant die to make the yellow doily shapes and then also embossing the pool party layer.  She’s a great helper!

Hope that you’re having a great day.

Until next time,
Happy Stamping!!

I’ve been at the festival!

The papercraft festival!  If you were too and you stopped by our stand I hope you were inspired by what we had on display!

We worked really hard over the last few weeks to pull it together. Yep, all this in just three weeks. We were also limited by the release of the new catty and the lack of being able to order too much of the gorgeous stuff in time to create masterpieces with it. But, I think we pulled it off?!

On the plus side, I have quite a few samples to show you now!!  LOL

I met heaps of very interesting and lovely people over the three days.  And we’ll do it all over again in February. Can’t wait! Looking forward to seeing you there!

Back soon with some more samples!

Happy Stamping!!

Punch art class

Hi again.  Two days in a row. Oh my golly goodness.  This is nearly unheard of. Don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll go back to sporadic blog posting again soon. This is surely just a phase i’m going through and it’s bound not to last! LOL

Just recently I ran a small class and the cards we made were punch art cards.  I was inspired by my favourite swap from convention by Pat Carr. Her swaps (there were two and I was lucky enough to get one of each!) were awesome!  I don’t know that my Fairytale princess Castle does hers justice, however, I had fun making it and that’s what’s important!  The frog card inspiration came from Linda Thompson and the little ballerina was one I had seen on the internet previously.

I think the little froggy was my favourite. He looks very happy don’t you think? lol

If you would like details of which punches i’ve used, shoot me an email and i’ll help you out. I’m too lazy to type them all here now!

Until next time,
Happy creating!!

Playing with Paper Players Challenge

Needed a little lift today and had seen this challenge floating around the internets. I liked how bright the colours were and it really appealed to me today!

Head on over to the Paper Players Challenge Blog to check it out. It doesn’t close until tomorrow night.

My card using these colours:

And a different angle:

Nice and bright and cheery to brighten my day. Just what the paper doctor ordered!! lol

Until next time,

Shoebox swapping..

Hi! Back again after a short (ahem) delay in programming!!  Last weekend on Saturday I had the pleasure of sharing my stamping space with 10 of the loveliest ladies I know! These are some of the members of my MAD Inkstincts Stampin’ Up! team.  It’s always a great day when you get together with a group of like minded women!

As part of the day we organised a shoebox swap. If you’ve never participated in one of these before, it’s heaps of fun. Sometimes when i’m with a whole bunch of other people stamping, I get sidetracked watching what everyone else is doing and forgetting that I am supposed to be stamping too! With a shoebox, all the work is done for you. It gave me a chance to make 10 different styles of cards and do things I don’t normally do! (ahem TEARING!) lol.  Some things were easier to do than others (TEARING was not easy and I didn’t enjoy it but I DID it!).  Annette of Lavender Thoughts is our resident interesting fold girl. She always makes something that stretches our imaginations. I haven’t had a chance to take a photo of the other cards yet but when I do i’ll pop them up for you to see!

Anyway! Here is my swap card.  It’s a little left of field for me. Not my usual style, however I loved it. Maybe I need to do this more often!  I’d be very interested to know your opinion on this card.  I don’t know if the picture does it justice…..let me know what you think!

And here is a little collage of my friends on the day:

I’m sorry if I’m a bit absent at the moment. Classes are due to resume soon. This last little while has been a bit chaotic. My Lara ended up in hospital this week for a virus.  And that always makes life tricky.  I am hoping for some good crafting time soon!

Until next time!
Happy Stamping,
