JAI 117 Colour Challenge – YELLOW!!!

The Just Add Ink Girls must have made this weeks challenge especially for me!!! Check out the colours we get to play with:

How awesome are those beautiful bright colours??  I’m a bit partial to yellows.  Did you know that?? lol

Hope you dear readers have been well.  I have been, as always, flat out with all manner of things that are going on.  I’m in the process of co-ordinating a Craft Market in my area because we’re very much in need of some great craft and diversity in our shopping options.  I’ll try to update you all again soon.

Adding Monochrome JAI #51

The JAI girls have a great challenge this week – Just Add Monochrome!  I’ve not really done a lot of monochromatic cards before but I enjoyed this one!!  Main reason??  I used my favourite colour – Daffodil Delight!!  After a pretty horrid week I needed a little lift!

They say “thinking of you”.  Don’t you love the yellow stripedy bakers twine??  Oooh love!  And the stamp set that I’ve used is a Sale A Bration Freebie.  SAB starts next week and you’ll be able to see more details then!!

Just Add Ink #150

Woot!  Played again!!  Love that!  This time I used the erm…interesting combination that the girls came up with over at JAI.  I can’t say that I loved it that’s for sure!!  Anyway, here’s the colour challenge:

And the inside:

I created the riding hood red scallops by cutting a 1″ circle in half and lining it up along the Elegant Eggplant edge.

I used Upsy Daisy and my markers to colour the image.  The base card stock is Confetti White, which is why there are speckles through it. I find it’s a nice and sturdy base card stock.

Just Add Blue

The girls at Just Add Ink have another great challenge this week.  Last week was raising awareness for Breast Cancer and adding Pink…this week it’s Blue highlighting the fact that it’s also Anxiety and Depression Awareness Month.  Check out the challenge HERE.

My card this week:

The other part of the challenge was to send this card to someone I care about.  Well, last week was a bit of a sad week for our family as my Aunt passed away.  She was diagnosed with cancer several months ago but we were not expecting her death quite so soon.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it to the funeral on Friday as my Lara May decided to have a mahoosive seizure and I got to ride in an ambulance to the hospital instead!  She is fine now and we’re just monitoring closely again!  Anyway, this card will go to my cousin to her know I’m thinking of her at this sad sad time.

I’ve pulled out 5th Avenue Floral as it’s not had a workout in a while.  I’ve stamped it in Not Quite Navy on Marina Mist and then coloured with an Aqua pen in NQN to give some darker colours.  It’s a bit of a watercolour cheat really!  I like the way the lines blur and whilst it’s probably not “technically” correct, it makes for a subtlety and softness that I like.   The card base is Naturals Ivory and the strip of DSP is from the Woodland Park papers.
