Inkspiration Challenge #87

Hi!! Busy around here at the moment! Well it’s always busy around here!! lol. I fell into a big heap after the mammoth effort of the Papercraft Festival for the week getting my energy to contend with school holidays! We are onto the last day of the first week. One week to go!! Actually, my kiddies are being particularly good. (touch wood! touch wood!!!)

One night this week I was lucky enough to have the illustrious Kirsty Brown visiting for a play. She was kind enough to give me some instruction on Brayering. I’ve done it before but a looooonnnng time ago and I had forgotten anything I may have learnt previously! But look! This is what I made!

Melbourne Convention

Hi again!! Just a quick convention post. I’m sure you all have read heaps more interesting blogs than mine about all the wonderful stuff that happened. I just thought I would show you my swaps. If I’m allowed to say so, I loved my swaps this year. They both made me happy on the inside! And we all know how good THAT is!! LOL

First swap was using Make a Monster. I also did some punch art stuff and made a little planet! I used the sentiment “Happy Birthday Human” from Lots of Bots set. I just thought they kinda went well together.

The base is Pear Pizazz and the other colours used are Not Quite Navy & Peach Parfait.

The other swap I took was a fun one with a pinwheel made out of my fave colour, Daffodil Delight!

I should have probably taken it out of the plastic before I took the picture but…well..um..I didn’t! LOL. I used the new cupcake punch and cupcake stamp set to do the clouds. I also used the new punch too. The “hill” is embossed with the polka dot folder.

The level of swaps I received at convention this year was outstanding! I was really happy with all the swaps I received and the best part of it was coming home and showing my kiddies. Katelin, Tom and I spent an hour our so laying on my bed (in the sun!) going through them all and chatting about each one. Here are some of my favourites:

Now the last picture is the the gift I gave my roomies. It was a hard cover notebook, some chocolates, a pen and some yummy hand cream.

Donations for Lara

I have temporarily removed the Donate button on my sidebar. I’m just in the process of sorting out some paperwork and legal whoha to ensure that everything is above board etc etc.

I want to thank those of you who have donated to the cause so far. I’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone. I am a bit speechless really!! (I know! A first!)

I’ll keep you all posted as to what is happening regarding the fundraising. Keep your eyes peeled closer to November (Lara’s Birthday month) – we’re going to be doing some great things in conjunction with a plethora of “famous” stampers here in Australia and from Overseas as well!!

Colour Renovation

Hi!!

I just want to give you some information on the Colour Renovation that’s happening with Stampin’ Up! come the new Catalogue in September. What I love about SU! is their ability to roll with change and to keep up to date with the changes that are happening in the stamping & papercraft industry. One of the ways they are doing this is by updating our colour families!! Isn’t that exciting?? Imagine how cool it’s going to be having a whole bunch of new colours to play with??!! Even the “old” colours will seem new again when we have “new” colours to team them with!! I think it’s a great move for SU!

Unfortunately with any change there can be loss. In the case of the colour families this means some of my favourite ever colours will be retiring!! *GASP*. I know! I know! However, I have many exciting things to look forward to! Check out the list below of all the colours that will be leaving. Also you need to know these are only available while stock lasts!! And stock is selling out quickly!!!

I’m BACK!!!

Did you miss me bad?? LOL. I can tell you that I missed my internet SOOO much. It was probably a very good thing that i’ve not had it on though as I got all my boxes unpacked and rooms sorted except my study. I am in a temporary arrangement at the moment until we convert the garage at this house. Which can’t happen until we sell the other house. Ugh. So nothing creative has been made here yet, but i’m working on it!! I had a burst of inspiration last night. Stay tuned to see where it leads me!

I was very very touched to receive FOUR Beautiful Blog awards during the time that I was away. I didn’t even know that there were four people out there reading me!! LOL. I often just think i’m talking to myself!!! Anyway, a very big thank you to Sonia Garbutt, Jenny Hayward, Teneale Williams and Linda Craven for awarding me with a Beautiful Blogger Award. the rules are that I have to nominate ten other beautiful bloggers and to tell you ten things about myself. I hope that because I got it four times I don’t have to tell you 40 things. Gosh, wouldn’t that be boring!! LOL

Ten things about me:

1. I have four children. (hee, that was easy)
2. I was married at 18!! To my best friend, (and not because of one of the aforementioned children!!) LOL
3. I am a twin. I have a brother. I got all the good looks!! teehee
4. I have OCD tendancies that I’m petrified i’ve passed onto my son. He’s a little odd sometimes!!
5. My fourth child was born with Cerebral Palsy and several other foibles. She’s now 18 months old.
6. I have more stamps and paper than I really need (shocking Isn’t it?)
7. I don’t love the cold.
8. I always regret not finishing school. At 15 I thought I was smart. hahahahahaha
9. I drink my coffee black with no sugar. You all needed to know that.
10. I have a crush on Gerard Butler. There – i’ve said it out loud!!

Fox and Friends come out to play

Hi!!! Me again!! Don’t fall over that this will be the third post in as many days!!! I’m just beside myself that I got organised enough to do it!! Can’t make any promises that it will continue though!! LOL

When I first saw the Fox and Friends set in the new Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue I fell in love with the little animals. I love them all!! So cute. It was one of the first sets on my list of must haves. I got to break them all out the other day and have a play. I went with a clean and simple kinda style with bright and bold colours. I’m on a bit of a Teal and Mustard kick at the moment. May have something to do with the fact that Teal is leaving me in a few months with the new Colour Renovation that’s going to happen.

I started with this card first and then from that made the little box and set of four cards to match. Too cute.

Because Nice Matters

You know…I LOVE this sentiment! Nice DOES matter. These days it’s very easy to get caught up in your own life and forget to say thank you or to acknowledge others. I *try* real hard to be a nice person {note emphasis on try, sometimes I fail! LOL}.

I was blessed to have many willing helpers for my Cards for a Cause fundraiser. I wanted to say thank you and let each and every person who contributed know just how much that meant to me. I made them a card and then made up triangle boxes from a half sheet of cardstock. Inside was a packet of conversation hearts. I wanted them to know they are loved and appreciated!! (awww, sweet aren’t I?? teehee).

I tried to remember all that contributed to the day. If I didn’t get you all, i’m sorry!! I cannot begin to thank you enough for all that you did to help me reach my goals. We raised $3100 for Xavier and I couldn’t be happier with that result! I also know I could not have done it without the help of my friends!!
